Didn't Biraz sign a contract extension last year? Or was that to this year?

no number 23 means we have space in the squad to sign a player without having to release someone throughout the season

Why do you want Ryan back anyway, he's old he's greedy and is no better than what we already have

I do agree with the Beard being here next year. Do recall him making a contract extension a while back. Don't recall Mitchell getting one though

I don't really want him back. Don't like what he did to us last year. Just saying it's strange #23 was not attributed ... why? Is the door open just in case?.... Just would like to know that's all.

Who did we add that would have taken the #23 though? Our signings were a defender who was always going to be a starter and therefore #4, Burns who was almost certainly always going to be #10 and Gibbs... who shouldn't have even been given a number or signed in the first place. Think it is purely that we haven't signed a player that #23 is open, not paving the way for Ryu's return.

No articles on Mitchell signing except for his initial one on a 2 yr deal in 2012.
    Same for Brillante

    http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/news/...-jets-contract

Josh Brillante has extended his contract with Newcastle Jets until the end of the 2014-2015 A-League season.

Brillante, a defender / midfielder who was already with the Jets for next season, was happy to add an additional year to his contract.

"I like the direction the club is going and I want to continue playing at the Jets," Brillante said.

"I certainly didn’t expect the opportunities afforded to me this season but I am obviously pleased to have played as much as I have.

"You can always do better but so far this season I have exceeded my own expectations and we are just looking forward to finishing off the season strongly."

The Jets are delighted to secure Brillante, 19, for an additional year.

"It is fantastic Josh has agreed to extend his contract with the Jets," club chief executive Robbie Middleby said.

"His attitude on and off the field has been outstanding, and Josh thoroughly deserves this contract extension.

"He will have a great opportunity at the FIFA Under-20s World Cup to test himself against some of the world’s best young players, and we are excited about his future at the club."
