Out of the players off contract across the league, I'd love to see (and I've attempted to be realistic about it) with us:

    - Nigel Boogard
    - Bruce Djite (but I don't think he is realistic, unless with his PFA ties he wants to be on the East Coast, and wants to help save a struggling team)
    - Nick Fitzgerald
    - Michael Neill
    - Archie Thompson (perhaps not realistic, but maybe so. He's rejected us once because he wanted another year at MV. Maybe they will tell him he's unwanted, but he won't be ready to hang the boots up)
    - Rostyn Griffiths
    - Jamie Maclaren (seriously, sign this kid. Love him, rate him higher than Gamiero)
    - Nebojsa Marinkovic
    - Milos Dimitrijevic (man I wish we had our Croatian/Serbian Connection still - thanks a lot Michael Bridges..)
    - Corey Gamiero (unlikely)
    - Nick Kalmar (ead MFAW)
    - Nikita Rukavytsya (dat pace)
    OK

    Boogard
    Hamill
    Malik
    Cameron Watson
    Hagi Gligor
    Joshua Sotirio

    dreams:

Clearly you've been hit in the head with a Frisbee too many times.

Rostyn Griffiths is a dirty gypo... cant stand the bloke. Does a good job but dont want him here!
Dimitrijevic - No chance. thats one for the big dream category. Way too good for us! Actually pretty much all of those players you listed are too good for us beside maybe Nick Kalmar.

Of those coming off contract this season:
    Re-sign:
    Celeski
    Cooper
    Griff
    Madaschi
Virgili (only as a squaddie coz hes a Newy boy and wouldn't be on to much)

    Release:
    Solari
    Welsh
    Montano
Kew (his time has come to leave. Hes been average this year)
    Gallagher
    Caravella
Carney (he wants to leave unless he changes his attitude let him do so)

    Sign:
    Boogard / Hamill
Ferreirra / Dugandzic / Rukavystya (2 of them)
Malik / Rostyn Griffiths / quality foreign central midfielder
Corey Brown & Ramsay. Or other left backs
    Georgievski
Duncan (no. 2 keeper maybe if Birraz leaves)
Djite / Gameiro / Boyd / Maclaren (2 of them)
Lo (apparently a real talent but doubt he'll leave WSW)
    Foreign central defender
    Foreign creative mid

This would leave us with the squad of:
GK: BK, Birraz, (Duncan if Birraz leaves)
    RB: Neville, Georgievski
CB: Madaschi, Regan, Hamill / Boogard, Foreign CB
    LB: Corey Brown, Ramsay
DM / CM: Kantarovski, Celeski, Pepper, Malik / Rostyn Griffiths / quality foreign central midfielder, Lo (yth)
    RM: Virgili, Ferreira
    LM: Lundy (yth), Dugandzic, Rukavystya
    AM: Barressi (yth), Cooper, Foreigner
ST: Jeronimo, Griff, Djite / Gameiro / Boyd / Maclaren (2 of them)

I think you will find that Georgevski is a LB, and that playing Ramsay at LB is suicide, he's a LW.

    You wouldn't keep Montano?

Georgevski is definitely a right back. He's only been shifted out to left back because the other left back options are dross. But he's a better left back than most other left backs in the league, which is a bit sad for the other left backs who are playing in their normal positions.

Montano is here on a loan deal. We would need to re-loan him, buy him, or pray his club terminate his contract.

That's all assuming he would want to stay.
    OK

quality centre back, with a football brain
quality centre mid, technical and creative
    quality striker, agressive poacher
tear up BK contract- Danny Ireland in
like other clubs around the world, develop youth, and sell-
then we become viable business and then a football club
Do you think that is achievable with the current owner?

Hahaha what a joke of an article... Omar Abdulrahman come to A-league? Good luck with that one!

Anyone thinking you are going to get a decent middle eastern player to the a-league is dreaming. The best go to europe, the rest stay home and get a pay day. Why would you move further away from home for less money and no improvement (give or take) on the quality.

to create quality youth, we need top notch coaching- not the incompetent crap we have experienced.
the aim is to be , like West Ham, Southahampton, Ajax etc etc sign cheap, create talent- and then sell, that enables the door and oportuntiy for more talent to come in, rather than sign or hang on to has beens, looking for superannuation payments. These clubs generally dont dominate leagues, but produce the best talent, and are finnacial from sales.
I believe CCM, had a clause in Matty Ryans contract, they recieved a % for FC Brugge transfer, now his value has increased to 3.6 Miil apparenltly, so if they sell him eg to Liverpool, CCM gets 20% of the next transfer fee, which could net then approx $700k to $1mil, after recieving a fee 2 years ago from his 1st sale.
I think the only way we will be like one of the clubs you mentioned, is to be bought by them. Ownership by another football club is the future I can see for A-League clubs.
