How can a player be made marquee when they've already been in the league for a few seasons?? Surely Victory can't claim he's going to bring anything new to them or the league as a whole

A new player comes in to the league and dominates, consistently scoring goals and providing entertainment. In order to keep him in the league you have to play him higher salary than what he might now being offered from overseas / other clubs etc.
Marquee isn't necessarily about bringing something "new" to the league, it's about having exciting players that bring value to the league, like the value of watching him attempt to punch on with his own team mate. Dead ringing for marquee.
