Averaging 55.446kmh over 13.8km is ridiculously fast - apparently the quickest ever time trial in the tour.

I'm going to tip Quintana for the GC. Not as confident as I was with Nibali last tour but I think if Quintana can be thereabouts heading into the tougher mountain stages the tour will be all his.

thibaut pinot had a very good chrono, contador a very poor one

time bonuses on offer as well, lots of boys will be chasing them to peg back the gaps. should be a great year i hope.

Glad to see Froome lose the yellow. Not so glad that he's got 30 seconds plus lead on most of his rivals.

The khunt has absolutely no bike handling skills whatsoever and if he wins this race again it will be a disgrace.

I'm praying for rain to get him sorted out.

to be fair - froome was great on the cobbles last night, marked nibali's moves - a lot of supposed cobble specialists couldn't hang with the lead group

props to quintana - kept his nerve and stayed with the lead bunch

martin is a monster. from a mechanical to a bike swap, lost time and then soloing to victory, what a machine.

he got dropped, got a flat, then got a mechanical - couldn't get off the big ring - then couldn't swap bikes as old mate from his team is taller than him

the team car was way back in the field as well so he cracked the shits, i don't blame him

saw him get the flat but then couldn't work out while he stopped later. Fair enough.

Did he get a new bike when he got the flat or did he just change wheels?

Nice easy prologue in the dauphine. 4km on an average grade of just under 10%!

And froome did it in under 12 minutes!

It's on again - Le Tour.

Nibali is at the ridiculous odds of 40/1 with some bookies. Froome and Quintana are close enough to even money - No thanks.

So, I'm getting on Nibali even though he's riding for Fru rather than the victory - I still have doubts about Fru as a climber

I don't ride bikes or follow cycling but god damn the TDF is something that I'm so pumped for every single year.

Flippin heck. I assumed it would be quite a slow deflation. That's quite a crash. Bet that fan has his belt tucked in today!

    And we're going up baby!
