Just make sure you spell Boogaard correctly on your next banner big boy.

Regan, Mullen and Boogs at CB or does Mullen move to LB.
Generally have more than 2 CBS in squad, injuries and competition for places etc

I have been quite impressed with Mullen and hope we retain him beyond this season. The Boogaard signing is all relative to what he is earning. If the lure was the certainty of a 3yr contract over big $$$ then that seals the CB's in the team on not overly massive dollars. Compare that to Kew and Madaschi who would surely have been in the top 5 earners. Hopefully that is more to spend further down the park.

will help us play in a certain way
Anyone else noticed that phil has never mentioned what this "certain way" actually is?

The only thing he's mentioned is "hard working"

**** that up a wall, every professional team should work hard.

The thing I think most of you have missed is this now means we have 3 potential Stubbins Yes Men to play at the back. The return of the 3-5-2 is nigh!

Well obviously, we are pretty well off now numbers wise, depending who returns next season, it could be Regan, Boogaard, Mullen, Welsh, Gallagher, Cowburn.

My issue is though the team has more pressing issues such as ST for next season, with Motano's loan ending and Griff and Jeronimo on the outer and left town already we are left with just Pavicevic and Crowley.

**** Welsh right off, maybe play him up front? He's got a great first touch, and tackles like a striker.

And Gallagher , Both would be struggling to get a first team gig elsewhere in this league.

Absolutely but its always good to have a CB who can back up elsewhere. What I like about it is that we would have 3 pretty evenly matched solid signings to compete with each other. Realistically we aren't going to compete with the other clubs after this season so we will need to grab solid local signings and spend big with the foreign players. Stubbing will have all the salary cap to spend so there can be no excuses. Must say he has done well the Lee Ki Jee, don't know how he pulled that off.

I've figured it out. Mullen will play at right back to pave the way for Scott Neville to move to Sydney

See I don't get this at all. Welsh should be 4th choice CB and back up DM. On min wage contract and should learn his trade as a professional by playing NYL most of the season and called up to the bench on occasion. Instead we have thrown him into the starting team and wonder why he fails.

To give the circus ringmaster some credit his signings have not been bad at all. Jeronimo Flores Madaschi Celevski Lee Ki Je Mullen etc are decent players

Problem is how he integrates them into the side with his inept coaching.

Montano classic example. Can see we have a very good player here potentially. The way Stubbins plays him and the rest of our side though sees us get the least value from him we could.

Hopefully the Lee Ki Je doesn't get screwed like this and we can get someone in to coach us well

Could we be looking at 3-5-2 for next season as Grimario pointed out? Play Boogs in the centre of Mullen and Regan. Lee Ki-Je and Scott Neville as your wing backs. Centre of the park Pepper and Kanta with Cooper. Then who up front?

This signing says to me one of Gallagher, Mullen or Welsh will not be retained. My bet is Gallagher.

What about any of the young centre backs we have playing in the NYL?
