I think what this will do is speed up the process of off loading the jets. The FFA may not be as keen anymore to look at various options/models and wait for what they would ideally want and may be forced to just run with the best option available now so they can pick up the roar.
so what happens to the roars marquee wages? If FFA wouldnt spend anything outside the cap for the Jets, why should any other club receive special treatment..

All the guys in our squad who weren't fired before tinkler lost the liscence we all offered like for like contracts and given a "reasonable timeframe" to accept the offer while looking elsewhere - Neville left. Carney et al. stayed.
If the Roar have a marquee on their books, the FFA would be obliged to pay the marquee wages. Just like they would have had to do if we had one.

That's usually what happens in life when you are not the "master of your own destiny".

Assuming we've not used any of the potential outside the cap wages we surely wouldn't have enough room to fit him in. Basically, when Thompson takes over, use the loyalty cap thing on either one of the BK's, and regardless of if he's earned the right quality wise to warrant this, make Carney Aus marquee if we don't plan on going for anyone to fit the bill.
Right now are weak point is in midfield and Brattan would definitely help us out in that area
