I think we need a striker before we need another midfielder.

Bratten's old man used to play alongside Phil Stubbins at Heidelberg. Maybe the Jets should ask Stubbins to have a talk with Bratten and explain to him what a wonderful place Newcastle is to play football ?
That is the priority now, clearly documented for weeks that Miller was after a #10 and a #9. With Leonardo filling the #10 role or at least playing in an attacking midfield capacity, why would we be chasing Bratten when our striker stocks are in need of a proven experienced goal-scorer.
Didn't Bratten score more goals than our strikers anyway?
Put him up front Tinks.
2 birds, 1 stone etc etc etc
Okay Member, say there is $200k left in the kitty.....just a ballpark figure but it's probably not too far off the mark.... we spend most if not all of that on Bratten (because he would be able to command at least $150k) who have we got to rely on to get us goals?.....Haliti, Brennan, Alivodic, Carney, Leonardo, Pav and Lundy. You still think we should sign Bratten or keep searching for a recognised striker?
Just transfer carney or Brattan to a marquee contract. Problem solved
If Bratten stays in the league he'll go to victory and take over Milligan's spot

Probably the most likely scenario
Question needs to be asked, why aren't we utilising the "Archie Rule" with either BK or Kanta so we can free up more $$$???
Okay, Miller is saying signing a #9 is the priority but gee if we had some extra $$$ freed up to at least give Bratten something to think about it would at least show that hey the FFA really are serious about making the Jets a competitive outfit because to me and for many others (I assume), they are just doing the bare minimum to just patch a squad together under budget.
Brattan's going to Europe...

Because it's money outside the cap that all clubs get from the TV deal. It doesn't increase the amount you get, just let's your spend some of your own if that's what your want to do... And the FFA clearly don't want to do that. Maybe Thompson will when he takes over but there's no way FFA will spend more than they have to.
So Taggart has agreed to goto Thompsons Dundee United on loan til the end of the season
