I don't think there is any need to hurry. Thai club want to be compensated and we don't want to pay them. Let them sort out a deal while Paartalu is recovering from his quad strain

Just read on the worldgame is that Paartalu received an aussie marquee offer from the jets but will remain in Thailand until the end of his contract in mid-december. Say could sign him in the Jan window.

Yup, think we should look else where now.

Would be happy if we targeted Nikita Rukavytsya as the Australian Marquee and Celeski or Ward for the last squad position

Correct me if I'm wrong. Can we not sign Paartalu tomorrow given that he is contracted until December and the Bosman ruling states that a contracted player can sign with another club in the last 6 months of his contract but still has to complete his contract.

So he signs with us tomorrow, finishes his time with Muang Thong United and is then eligible to play for us come January. Doing this would prevent any other club beating us to the punch before January.

Yup, sounds like Paartalu wants to wait and see or stay in Thailand on the ca$h

I think u 'll find that the Bosman "ruling" only applies to EEC

So do we keep a spot free and wait for him or do we look elsewhere to fill the role?

Look elsewhere - maybe the opportunity in January to use him as a guest or injury cover by then.

    I agree.

Just so you know, you need holding midfielder, I have one for sale. Perhaps we can do a deal?

I'm also after top quality strikers - the older the better. Any on your books? Might be able to come to an arrangement for another striker I have no need for.

So what does everyone think we will ACTUALLY do though??

I am thinking we hold off on signing Paartalu and wait for the transfer window and use Nick Ward in the mean time to fill the hole.

Transfer window comes and we are all set to sign Paartalu when Sydney FC swoop in with an offer and are able to still fit him under the salary cap and he ends up in Sydney

In the herald today they are saying we are moving on from Paartalu and looking at other options. I'm thinking Celeski would then be a good option, was Victory's best player in his last season. Would be a solid signing.

Celeski would be a good signing but i just dont know if he is the right signing. I dont think he should be the option instead of paartalu. He would be a good addition to the squad if we had more spots available, but i really think we need a dominant player if we only have one spot left.
We need a player everyone looks at and thinks that they will be one of the best on the field.

Agree to an degree. But we have no visa spots, doubt we'd have much cap space and there are very few if any other aussie marquee DM available

Yeah true... have to be realistic!
I know its wishful but i would love to see them make a play for Wilkshire. He would dominate this league in midfield!

Cancel that, i have just read that he has signed for Feyenoord... dammit!
