This story is everywhere this morning, but I don't see it happening unless Kokko has gone elsewhere. You would think Church was one of the 3-4 strikers we were negotiating with though. If given the choice Church has far better credentials playing at better clubs, albeit without the scoring record.
It was reposted by the Sports Editor of the Sun on Twitter a few hours ago. The story goes Church is being released from his contract at MK Dons so they can sign another striker in the next 48 hours and is in negotiations with us.
Church and Kokko are way too similar players for us to be signing both. So my guess is we were negotiating with both but signed Kokko, or the Kokko deal has fallen over (which seems very unlikely given his statements) and we have advanced talks with Church

Heard from a sauce that the club is definitely interested in Church. Maybe the Chinese position has been ditched after all or can we sign Church as a "guest player"?
Maybe the club are seeing the reality of the Chinese player and the costs to get someone good enough being too extreme and may look instead at bringing Chinese kids out for the Yoof o bring someone out from Ledman Chinese team for training only until the stars aliign???
Possible. Lawrie did say in the pod that it would be tough to find a player that would add value (as you would expect from a visa player) that will fit under the salary cap given the wages in China for just squad players.
