KEY MATCH UP – Matt Millar (New) and Andrew Nabbout (MVC)

Both players joined their respective clubs in the off-season. Nabbout’s recent return to Victory, and the A-League, after a stint overseas in the J-League with Urawa Red Diamonds has caused some disappointment amongst Jets supports. The winger will be looking to utlise his energy and pace down the left hand side of the Victory attack. His eye for goal will be a threat to the Jets and he shapes as the key outlet for a much-changed Victory outtfit.

Millar, by all reports, has been an impressive recruitment for the Jets from their local rivals. A player who was signed from the VPL was a revelation in his first season. Millar has the athleticism to  provide an attacking outlet on the Jets’ right side while also covering his defensive duties. How his attacking runs are dealt with by Victory, and whether Nabbout tracks him, may prove to be decisive battle in the match.

REFEREE – Shaun Evans

Evans has previously refereed the Jets in one FFA Cup match, a Round of 32 fixture against Perth Glory which finished 2-2 and the Jets lost on penalties.

In the A-League, the Jets have won 5, drawn 8 and lost 6 of the matches Evans has officiated.
