AAMI Park, Melbourne, VIC

Furns is joined by Matt to talk over dropping two points at the death to draw at home against Perth Glory as well as some news on expansion

A game where the Jets had the better of the first half and lead 2-1 saw the visitors pressing in the final stages to end up scoring late in injury time to draw 2-2. The guys briefly discuss the previous 3 losses in previous games, before moving onto the Glory game. They talked over the lineup and performances of players across the team and where the game was positive and negative.

Talk then moved on to talking about the National Second division and only one team from NNSWFF being involved. Then the expansion news regarding the A-League was discussed regarding two new teams in Canberra and Auckland in 2024/25, and further expansion possibilities in 25/26.

Perth Glory FC 2 – Newcastle United Jets FC 2

Newcastle United Jets FC 2 – Melbourne Victory FC 1

Macarthur Bulls FC vs Newcastle United Jets FC

5pm AEDST 18th February 2023

Campbelltown Stadium, Campbelltown, NSW

Furns is joined by the Jetstream alumni Dave to talk over an away draw against Perth and a home win against Melbourne Victory.

A seesawing game saw the Jets draw 2-all away to Perth at Macedonia Park. The guys talk over the game, including a performance from Duncan that saw a penalty save and then two poor efforts going for the ball leading to the two Perth goals. As well, another fine performance and goal from Piscopo and a goal in the final minutes from Goodwin to earn a hard fought point.

Then the home game against Melbourne in with factors against both teams with the weather and pitch conditions saw a battling performance and the Jets taking their chances against a Victory side that played well but didnt convert the better opportunities seeing them leave the Hunter with nothing.

Talk then moved over the upcoming away fixture against Macarthur who have a new coach and in somewhat of a inconsistent run giving Jets fans hope of stretching our unbeaten run to 6 games. The lads then gave their tips for the rest of Rd16.

Dave finished off the episode by giving a summation of the Jets Women’s season so far, which players have stood out, and what we can hopefully expect from the remaining Jets games in Liberty A-League season.

Newcastle United Jets FC 4 – Brisbane Roar FC 0

Perth Glory FC vs Newcastle United Jets FC

1030pm AEDST 2nd February 2023

Macedonia Park, Perth, WA

Furns is joined by the returning Matt to talk over a fantastic performance and result at home against Brisbane.

A dominating display across the entire 90 minutes saw the Jets run out 4-0 winners against a dispirited Roar side, and the guys chat over what made the result happen including the starting lineup, some standout performances and tactics in the midfield as well as the stats.

This result in context with other games over the weekend and saw the Jets get some breathing space away from the bottom of the ladder and put us in touching distance of the top six with, hopefully, some better results and performances to come.

Talk then moved over the upcoming away fixture against Perth and what we could expect considering Perth is in a much better run of form than Brisbane and what we can carry over from that game away to WA.

The episode concluded with tips for the rest of Rd15.
