What are the double standards out of curiosity?
Anything that happens when Chelsea were involved we seem to be made the instigator and get the most punishments. When other clubs do similar things and nothing happens. City were the club out of line but were getting docked points. Its a joke. Also the amount of times Jose got fined or suspended as our manager for stuff other managers do and get away with.
I read the points deduction, if it was to occur, would be because it was their 5th infringement in 18 months and FA have obviously realised that money is no deterrent.
And yeh, I think clubs get fined all the time. I know Liverpool have been fined a couple of times for their supporters behaviour. I guess it's a bit of conformation bias, and even a consequence of Chelsea having such status.
Normally I'd be for a points deduction for someone like Chelsea, or just any club that has Diego Costa at it, but I actually watched this game (EDIT: and for the record this was one of the better games I've watched in the last few years) and couldn't fault Chelsea at all - that scrap was entirely the fault of City. I think I actually cried a bit at how well Cesc played Fernandinho, was just glorious to watch.
I imagine the FA are just fed up with Abramovich and want to punish him finally
