yes of course the only way to save the $5m p/y that Abbott cut (approx 2% of their budget) was to dump probably the highest rated programming they own.
of course you give away your best content instead of searching across the 5 channels you operate.
of course there would be absolutely no way to save money or run things more efficiently.
especially when you, yanno, didnt actually 'save' any money by on selling the World Cup rights.
see, if you needed to 'save' the money you wouldnt swap that highly coveted content that you paid $20m cash in exchange for $8m cash and $10m worth of alternative content.
any CEO in the commercial world that did that would be out on their ass. but its easy when you play with someone elses money and have a band of suckers out there that believe every sob story you peddle.
yeah i didnt 'need' one, as my streaming (apart from 10mins of one game being slow) has been perfect. We have NBN here at Plague Manor, so maybe that helps.
I just wanted to see if it made throwing it to my big TV any better than the apps i already use.
let me know if its any good, i can just buy one for $150 for the EPL season if necessary.
My Fetch is perfect but I have full speed 100 Mbps FTTP NBN goodness.
As the Member said the way the NBN was meant to be for everyone.
jumpy and the the whole set up was appalling - TV reception didn't work, NBN took ages to get set up and kept dropping out, complaining on the phone took forever and there was only the same stupid options talking to a computer before getting through to someone in a call centre in some south east Asian nation
all in all it was a month or so of waiting for something to be installed and work that turned out to be complete garbage
I'll never go back with Optus
I not a fan of Optus period
I didnt find it hard to set up
HDMI cable in to unit
HDMI cable into TV
Power into Unit
Power into Power Point
Then powered on and into set up mode and away you go
15/20mins tops and a lot of that was me trying to figure it out without worrying about destructions
Havent bothered plugging it into the antenna yet to get FTA TV yet as I tossing up whether to do that as it will effect my HDD recorder etc
But as far as hooking it up to being able to get me watching WC on my TV it was a piece of piss really and a lot easier than I was thinking it woukd be
While watching the SBS coverage this morning I checked the Optus feed to see if it working.
It froze at least once every 5 mins. Then went back 10sec in audio and once the audio caught back up the picture started moving again.
Now so far I'd had pretty much no issues with the Optus setup.
Will be interesting tonight if everyone has to go back to them.
Or is SBS still showing all the games?
Wait?
So the Fetch didn't have the damn game?
Oh dear, Optus is the Gypos ot the telecommunications industry.
It was on Optus Sport 1 live.
On demand is a couple of hours after the game ends....I've been caught with this before on EPL which is why I record the games on Fetch. Navigation is much better too when recorded.
Not saying it wasnt there
I just opened up the Optus Sport part on Fetch and it looks very similar to app on phone
All the TV shows with Mel etc
On Demand games
Goals
Highlights
Press Conferences Etc
For whatever reason couldnt for the life of me find the game
May have had to look elsewhere but where ever it was it wasnt as easy to find as the app and I going to have to search a bit harder tonight
SBS will be showing all games
Optus cant cut the mustard

Wow
Oh dear god more Craig Foster.
If there's one saving grace is that WC kickoff times are strict, so you can flick over at the right time to avoid having to sit through pre-match bullshit from that bloke
