All good, my intentions were to never bring any unwanted attention to your club, I have a dislike of hypocrites and Tonester put a massive target upon himself.

All the best for the season ahead, that goes to you to Tonester.

Tonester was the one who was trying to bring attention to the club and most probably due to what he perceives as past injustices. Just don't find it appropriate for someone who has not been involved in and capacity for at least 12-18 months to make comments as to having inside information on the operating of the club.

As always the club are hoping for a good season and hopefully will be able to cause a few upsets. They have relied on players who actually want to be there rather than spending outlandish $$$ to attract players who simply aren't worth those $$$.

As someone who comes from outside the Newcastle football fraternity it never ceases to amaze me how insular & insecure the supporters are. You really need to try to handle criticism whether or not it is justified & not allow people such as myself to upset the status quo.In answer to Azzuri 73 no one has been in contact with me to pull my head in, I choose to do it myself. If people have taken offense at any of my posts I apologise no offense was intended.

From the Herald,

'Tanchevski stood down on Wednesday after six seasons with the club, who he took from the bottom of first division to promotion and three consecutive play-offs in the top northern NSW league, including grand final glory in 2014. He told Jaffas players on Thursday night of his decision which he made because of mounting business commitments, a desire to spend more time with his family and his inability to complete the required B-licence coaching course this week.'

Not surprised at all about this development, he should have stepped down (or stood down) at the end of last season. Heard from people in the know that Jaffas pre-season has been very ordinary with the senior squad only being finalised in just the last week or two. At this level you need a head coach to be 100%, not goig to write Jaffas off as they have a lot of quality in their squad but will be interesting to see if they can maintain the same standard they have maintained for the past 3 seasons.

Does anyway else find it weird that the National Premier League which kicks off in three days has little or no coverage in media, either NBN or Newcastle Herald. It is suppose to be the highest elite competition in Northern NSW, if you didn't follow the game, you wouldn't know it kicked off this week.
Even the FFA Cup got two paragraphs in the paper of the results between four Premier league teams from Saturday night ????

Newfm even though I understand has kicked off where the Premier league hasn't, but it seems to get more coverage, especially from Newyty.

Will there be similar reports available on the NPL games.

Just think NNSW is doing a %$^& job, marketing and advertising their showpiece competition through mainstream media ????

Northern doing a shit job??

You don't say??

Beats me why the showcase comp is only starting now when New FM started what 6 weeks ago

So having an elite comp that goes 4 months of the year for the majority of sides is beneficial how??

Throw some more teams in play each other 3 times but make it a 6 month comp FFS.

It has been 7.5 months since the comp ended last season FFS

Agree 100% member,
the season is way to short. but infact clubs dont want it to be much longer for the fact it costs them too much money!!

Say someone is on $1000 a game over 18rounds = $18000

$18000 over 27 rounds $666.66 a game

STILL way too much

Have heard that Broadley has walked outon Maitland as well. That's 2 local loyal players in Ben Kelly and Broadley that have walked out in 2 weeks. Is all not well up at Maitland. Has Piggo already offside with the players similar to what happened at Weston

Don't think maitland will finish bottom.
A piggo team will be able to fight and scrap, if they need to. He did well with a below average team at southy (compared to other clubs their squad was young and not as star studded) so with some decent players he's more than capable.
The question is how many existing players will have their feathers ruffled. He has a knack of polarising people and is honest in his appraisal. Some people don't like that.

Game was average. Carter is a massive loss and all grades will struggle if he misses games. The poor goalkeeping saw 2 blowout Scorelines.
But Yeh, magic did what they needed to do. But struggled in the opening passages. The first goal opened the flood gates and was incredibly soft and Carter could've saved at least 4 of those I think. Kale and Virgili on the wings is dangerous! So much skill and pace.

So Mum & Dad goin to watch young Johnny have to fork out $20 to watch a game after dishing out $800-$900 for the year ? John Smith who would spend $50-$60 at canteen and bar $10. I used to go to NPL and have 5-6 beers at $4 a pop plus pie and chips. Didn't go last year and won't go this year because of entry fee and beers at $5-$6 a pop. I'm sure some bellend, will say the comp is better off without me if I'm not a true supporter, but I beg to differ.

It's a semi professional league everything comes at a cost, players, coaches etc and most definitely fan loyalty, a fan may more often choose to follow a player rather than a club. Which could mean a new club every two years.

The club mentality dwindles or is non existent.

Archibald in goals, yeah he called for the ball coming off the line, and got nowhere near it, first valo goal, was a quick free kick while azzuri were taking to long to get organised for an unmarked olzomer to head home.
Maguire didn't play, another week away I think.
Yes minors left........
Thought azzuri were going to pinch it in the end with fresh legs.... they hit the post/crossbar three times through the game.
Blonde curly haired #6 for valo? honking, passed it to no one, or over the sideline a lot, so not sure who you were watching. But #6 is from the central coast I believe.

Good point but the truth I would think is much much more than a monthly meeting and helping out on match day. I know for a fact a number of clubs who invest a lot of time and money into their clubs and grounds and in the case of clubs like magic where there was and always is a team of committee and helpers when in construction mode. We should be careful not to rubbish hard working and progressive clubs. It is interesting though that a number of clubs who get their hands dirty have been most successful in the last few years. I think it would also be fair to say that massive cash injections into a club don't guarantee good club culture or a cabinet full of trophys. I think this years A-league champions are a perfect example for all clubs in Australia to follow.

Do you seriously think that the clubs really worry about who coaches the 17's and 19's, there just happy someone's silly enough to do it for nothing. The NPL in promotion/relegation mode is only about the top 16 players who are all generally on retainer as is the coach.

Say 5k to coach for the year, 4 sessions a week for 26 weeks that's includes game day, equates to $48 per session, if session goes for three hours including travel then that's $16 per hour. The 16 year old kids at dominoes pizza get that for waving a sign at the lights.

I was talking about the #6 which I wrote at HT. I thought he looked good first half but second not so much. Looked comfortable & mobile in the middle, happy to dictate play where he could and seems to be somewhat of a leader. Mind you, I was 50m away and judged that on 45 mins against a team that isn't going to reach any great heights this year. He probably stood out because of his do up top as well lol

I also said the Valo keeper made a bad mistake for the first CCB goal, don't know who he was though? The Valo goal was at the other end so didn't see what happened.

Not coaches responsibility to ensure players are registered, committee either registrar or secretary need to communicate to players that registration needs to be completed then committee should supply coaches/ managers with a list of registered players.

I would blame the registrar & related committee members. It's up to the admin of the club to let coaches know who they can & can't choose to play each week. Surely whoever takes charge of rego @ Edgy should have a list of people who are registered but not financial, who are fully registered, and who are not registered. All they needed to do was say "don't play that guy this week, he hasn't paid/registered yet".

It's the same as suspensions - coaches should pick their strongest team each week and it's up to the club admin to tell the coaches they can't pick a certain player due to suspension that week. Obviously this eg takes into account that NNSW would need to do their job in notifying the club of the suspension.

The way the registration process works is a two fold system.
The player themselves registers on my football club, but then the club administration have to approve and ensure the appropriate paperwork is filed with Northern. (Doesn't mean you wouldn't be annoyed though, but the fault may not be with the player themselves).

I think it's fair to say that there is no loyalty in football period

I'm sorry, how did every other player in the competition register?

I'm sorry, I will type slower for you

The problem was if you turned 16 or 17 this year, and wanted to register for an NNSWF NPL club then the only option that came up was NPL youth 17's registering for senior NPL was not an option offered
This probably effected a few but certainly not every other player !!!!

The penalty would only stand in the nnswf kangaroo court, if you are going to make people do something a certain way than you have to ensure that the people can do it, can't then penalise people for them not being able to do something your software could not accommodate

There was a fix, but it took club involvement so took it out if player hands

So back to reds comment that every player knows, yes maybe but they can't do what the system won't allow

The way the registration process works is a two fold system.
The player themselves registers on my football club, but then the club administration have to approve and ensure the appropriate paperwork is filed with Northern. (Doesn't mean you wouldn't be annoyed though, but the fault may not be with the player themselves).

End of the day the club has to make sure their players are eligible to play even if the player should've known. Responsibility ends with the committee.

Much appreciated. However, they are the only club to lose points? So everybody else must have figured it out of rested their players.
Docking of points is justified if that is the case. What are they going to protest? If they are the only ones who can't register a player before playing them, they have no excuses.
At the end of the day the club has a print off or access to a list of registered players.

Correct
I know forever red will have trouble accepting that a committee might have made a mistake
It's easy to call every one dumb and to assume every one knows as much as every one else but end of the day obviously not every one knew and ultimately it is the registrar who has to know who is good to play and who is not
That's why team mates can't be filthy at each other in this instance, filthy with club yes or committee yes

So your telling a bloke turns up to play knowing he hasn't registered himself online yet it's someone else's fault, don't think so

He has been training with the squad for months, he may have even payed rego to the club. It is still the committees fault for not ensuring every player in their squad is registered.

Considering this is a semi-professional outfit and the squad is selected the committee should ensure that the squad that has been selected by their officials can play and if one isn't they are responsible for informing the coach and manager. Had the coach and manager ignored that then the blame rests with the coach and manager, but if no one informs them they aren't to know.

But as WB said you can't accept that committee members make mistakes, so no point hashing over it. Committee members are volunteers so sometimes they will make mistakes they just need to accept it, own up to their failings and learn from it to prevent it happening again.

But while you are still assuming every one knows everything

Did everyone know that a player aged under 18 years of age cannot register online via FFA web site for a senior NPL team
The only option that comes up is for NPL youth 17's
It is as issue with the site
If I were Edgeworth or any other club facing same I would be protesting
How can you penilise someone for not doing something you did not facilitate ????

How can you spell facilitate but not penalize, strange.

Buds have been pretty poor all over and probably should be behind by more

Mooney with a tap in the first 5 after goalkeeper parried a ball back onto the goal mouth

Bertos with a 50 yard run on the counter from a corner skinning a couple of blokes before finishing with aplomb

Disastrous result for Jets Youth yesterday. Can't fathom why they're playing only 3 at the back with a squad that paper thin. To complicate matters even more, there are no CB's in the entire squad. Combine this with a high press tactic = suicide. Many kids starting who are out of their depth at this stage of their careers. Didn't see the game yesterday, but was kept up to date. By accounts, they did well to get back to 2-2, until a fatal error from the keeper (described to me as "woeful keeping") and then one from a centre-back let Charlestown get out to a big lead to close the game out. Was told best performers were Joice (2 goals), Waller (2 assists) and Pawiak (described as "working double shifts").

Concerned the game vs Edgy could be a bloodbath....

Well I know of 6-7 17yo/18yo playing in 22s, including one getting first grade time, who defeated Valentine, then had a draw with the so called "elite " 18yo"s of NNSW, so there must be some talent coming through. Some good kids coming through in the 19s, if they all stick to the ONE club, and don't go club hopping or playing Newfm First grade because its " First Grade " the club will be in good shape.
