Hi everyone.

Just want to let the clubs that are coming to King Park this Saturday know that we are hosting the Newcastle football Junior Grand Finals as well as the ZL1 games.

This means we will have 7 fields running and around 2200 people come through the grounds on the day. Give yourselves plenty of time to get to the ground as it is highly unlikely you will find a carpark at the ground and may need to walk quiet some distance. There is also no allowance for buses or anything of that nature.

The grounds are alcohol free and the only licensed area is up in the clubhouse. We ask you be respectful of this fact as the Police have told us that they will be doing walkthroughs of the fields and the clubhouse on the day.

Thanks

Good advice...

But this is too much for 1 place.

Newcastle should've shared another ground for their gfs.

I look forward to Rolo having to come in and defend Wilso's honour bacause Premy got offended and is still sour about them kicking the ball out of bounds.

In saying that it looks like everyones too scared and quiet to say anything about any games right now. No predictions?

Parking is usually hard enough with juniors & netball across the road.

Going to be a fking nightmare. Games kick off 30 mins earlier too...

Rolo can't defend. Period.

I'd like to see Suburbs v Barnsley GF. But throw Terrace the September specialists in there and who knows.. I can't see Wallsend turning it around away from home. Good to see they fought till the end last week to make this week interesting though.

1st Barnsley V Terrace
Res Cooks Hill v GARDEN SUBURBS
3rd Cooks Hill v Barnsley

Some good games to look forward to this weekend. Predictions?

1st Grade: Barnsley smashed Wallsend to make the GF but have been beaten twice during the season by Terrace. Terrace just got past Suburbs to reach the GF but have a quality defense. A tough one to call. This isn't Terrace first GF so i'm picking them to go through with it in a tight one. 2-1 Raymond Terrace.

Res- Cooks Hill have been the dominate team all season in this grade. I feel they will go on with it to take out the GF. 3-1 Cookers.

3rds: Not much knowledge on 3rd grade. Going to say this one will be 2-2 and go to Pens. Cookers to win 4-3 on Pens.(just throwing something out there for this)

Sir

First Grade - Barnsley to win
I would've chosen Raymond Terrace due to their defence and long balls, however they did lose one of their first graders to a Red Card on the weekend. Prediction: 1-0

Reserve Grade - Cooks Hill to win
Can't deny their dominance this year. However this will be against the only team that have taken points from them (a draw). I expect this game to be very hard fought. 3-2

Third Grade - Cooks Hill to win
Can't comment much on thirds, but I recall Cooks Hill being quite a good squad to face. Prediction: 2-0

Terrace did have their Res grade in the finals as well who have now been knocked out. Losing 1 player hopefully wont put a dent in them as they now have a full squad to choose from.

Cats took points off Cooks Hill ressies as well 😉

I agree they will just get past Gardo but it will be close.

Firsts I'll go with Barnsley who have been quality all year.

Thirds I'll go Barnsley as well very solid team and best we versed this year.

I'll guess -
Firsts: Terrace in pens after coming back from 2-0 down. Still flying under the radar but proving they're finals specialists.
Reserve grade: Cooks Hill 3-1. Bon continually taking pot shots from 40 yards out and Premy ****ing blowing up at him for clearing the ball so far when they're down by 2. (Premy still thinking they were the better side on the day and should have won)
Thirds: Barnsley 4-2 Cookers with too many lattes before kickoff causing heart palpitations. Barnsley throwing their weight around with the average well in excess of 100kg .

Great game to be a part of yesterday, just wanted to thank Barnsley for the game, two very deserving sides in a tight contest.
Also a shout out to the Barnsley faithful, who let me have it for a good 110 minutes or so, most of it was some good light hearted banter and it actually made standing in goal a little more fun than normal.

On a less cheerful note, whoever the Barnsley bloke was that called my 7 and 4 year old children ****s, let me know who you are next season when we play so I can take your jaw home with me😂😂😂. Probably lack the courage I'd imagine.

Cheers for the season Rangers, Are we any ****en good!!!

I'm not sure who it was Donk to be honest, I'd imagine I wouldn't have seen the game out otherwise. Hahaha. Like I said mate, most of it was good, solid Grand Final banter from the boys in green. I hold no grudge at all against the club, I just wouldn't mind a quick chat with the individual in question😜😜😜

A few of the boys even came over post match and had a handshake and a chat, I genuinely enjoyed getting heckled for that long!!!

Congrats to all Winners of the GF's on the weekend.

Heard that the 1st grade game was a good hard tussle between 2 quality sides. Raymond Terrace are the typical September specialists going 4 from 4 1 st grade Grand Final wins in a row. Thats definately a feat in itself. I bet there are a fair few sore heads today.

Why are clubs structured so poor that key peeps can walk away and put the hole club at jeopardy?
I heard a similar rmour bout another club, but perhaps I shud put that in next years ID2 thread..?? To keep it relevsnt.
The association should enforce a club heirachy at each club instead of just relying on key peoples to keep clubs afloat.

Probably to do with the fact that they are volunteers......

I guess in ZL1 and ZPL the need for 3 teams can lead to teams needing to drop. I had heard the Bero one some time ago......

A few interesting changes in 2018's comp. Would have thought Terrace might've made the jump to ZPL with Barnsley. Azurri make a double jump to ZL1, From what i've seen on their facebook the passion they bring to football can only be a good thing for this comp. As well as some lighthearted banter to go with it that we all know they are good for. Someone better tell them now to not kick the ball out of play when 1 up at Suburbs though.

Raymond Terrace applied to go up to ZPL, but without automatic promotion we were relying heavily on a ZPL team to fold or willing to drop down to ZL1. I think this will be a tough comp

The two biggest surprises for me with the new setup was where did Argy go, and Terrace in ZL1 again. What is it, 4 grand finals in a row? Particularly how close the top 3 were in ZL1 last year I would have thought at least 2 of those teams would have headed up.

Awesome news for Azzuri and also Maryland for getting third grades. I'm sure it will keep a lot of clubmen at both clubs that may have felt pushed out with only 2 grades. Awesome for both teams. Although it does disturb me that the Azzuri v Simba game at the tafe isn't happening, I had that penned in my calendar already!

Agreed X, this looks like it will be a tough comp again. Uni combining their teams you'd imagine would be strong. Suburb() if they keep that same team really should win the thing and I'm still shocked they didn't last year. Wallsend, according to the ZPL thread, have lost their coach so I assume are a bit of an unknown. Terrace will be looking again to add another Grand Final and arguably more to their trophy cabinet for sure. And Azzuri, if able to keep the team together, have a squad that I reckon rivals Suburb() so they'll be phenomenal - wait sorry if you talk to the Azzuri boys they're fully ready for the battle to #survivethedrop :rof: looks like a tidy comp and a win for most that there are so few trips up the valley!

Yeah, as long as it’s not too close to the season. It’s hard to attract players that would make a decent impact in ZPL when your nominated for ZL1 all pre season. More than half of our 1st grade recruitments from the last 3 years have been from wooden spooners from the previous years(medowie, tenambit and Nelson bay)lol

To be fair, it would be an absolute miracle if Azzurri were to get out of the basement next year. Predicting a very tough season for them considering the quality that exists in this competition. They will probably be star struck at being in a competition as high as ID1.

Real Azzurri? You realise we were based at Smith Park first and then the club purchased the land at Highfields, right? But yes, we have offered our brothers at Highfields a substantial sum of money to change their name back to "Hamilton Azzurri" (their original name) and they are currently working with NNSWF to see if they can make it happen (ethnic names and all that racist hoo har).

I'd be curious to see where enough land was found the has Recreation Facility (outdoor) as a permissible use. Pretty much just the B5 - Business Development, RE1 and RE2 zones unless the development is big enough to be a Recreation Facility (Major).

Would be great to see a club develop its own facilities. Lot of cash but if you have the funding source then thats no an issue.

Yep, very curious to see where this site is and what’s planned. Any hints butcher? No need to hide anything if it’s all acquired anyhow!
Will ZL1 be out of smith Park next year?

Can't wait to see the Zlatan running around in the (sky?) blue of Azzuri in 2018, on the brand new pitch at Stade de Azzuri.

At this stage it looks like we'll have a temporary home ground whilst "Il Bordello" (the brothel) is being constructed, at this stage that doesn't look like being Smith Park.

Hi guys, I was just wondering if Raymond Terrace were still the ugliest team in world football? Can anyone confirm?

so is Azzurri leaving Hamilton?

as a resident of one of the Hamiltons I would be very pleased to not be associated with these types

I never really thought to stare at the opposition and decide whether I found them attractive or not either during a game or prior to kick off.. I guess I was too scared about running around the field with a raging boner that still wouldn't be visible through my football shorts to ever try it out...

Has anyone else "hot or not" the opposition during a football game?

Is this a common thing and I have been missing out on this all along?

How large of a negative number did I score when we played you last Butcher?

I only do it post game, when everyone is all sweaty.

It'd be a bit gay if someone did it pre-game or during.

Not that there would be anything wrong with that.

Shut up boz, go back to your really well run club and leave us to discuss the big issues.

Speaking of which, has anyone seen that goalkeeper from the terrace? Where did they get him from? Rumour has it they found him sleeping under a piece of cardboard next to raymond terrace woolies

He looks more like a hobo that comes out from under the bridge for home games.
