NL really struggling this year.

Thought I’d watch the replay of the red cards.

First one looks like he jumped to charge down the kick and landed on the keeper. Replay doesn’t show the actual contact so hard to comment accurately. Maybe a smidge harsh for a straight red if it was incidental contact, unless it was an uncontrolled lunge - which is probably the interpretation of the referee.

Second one, I’m not sure why everyone looks so puzzled. (Only explanation was that it wasn’t his second yellow). Thought it was a blatant late trip from behind. Easy yellow. Very silly if player on a yellow.


They did well to keep it 0-0 with 9. Disappointing to lose a point in the last minute due to a ricochet pinball roulette goal.

100% agree with the second red card. I think the player didn't know he was on a yellow. Still was a second yellow and therefor red. First one just simply wasn't, but these things happen.

For me the issues with officiating were outside of the cards, some very baffling choices that make the cards look worse than they are when compounded. I guess it's a positive that all matches are filmed now. Hopefully it's used for education.

Valo will stay in NPL. As out of form Valo are at the moment, Westy still isn't strong enough to topple them over two games.

I thought Bolchy might step up as head coach at olympic but with the rumours of McGuiness moving to Croatia he might end up at Edgeworth, back to the drawing board for Olympic, they?d have a hefty bill to pay, expect the price of tins to be up at the grand final

what a terrible game of football.

Singleton are an embarassing club on and off the pitch. The microphones near what I assume to be club officials given the reaction to some moments of the game are just indicative of where the entire mentality of that cesspit is. On the pitch, the game plan was clearly to maim as many valo players as possible, and the pushover in yellow let it happen. Anti football and not in a glorious 4-4-2 little man big man up top combo kind of tactical way.

At least they had a plan, though. Unlike Valo who looked like they had never met each other before and played like a team with no instructions as to what they were actually trying to achieve. Just clueless and this match showed their level of both coaching ability and playing ability.


I really, really hope both teams are in the doldrums of NL1 next year because neither of them deserve to be in the top flight. Just horrible to watch, worse to listen to, and I want a refund from NNSW for putting that on the internet for anyone to see.

Valo are poorly coached and have several players who should be playing reserve grade at most. They lack any depth at the club and hence why several either sponsor or committee members sons are in the team who are not up to this level by a long way. But hey the sponsor dollars will continue I guess.

Agree Alton, offered nothing going forward in a must win game. Crowley is the best striker in the comp (since Futez left Edgeworth) and they had no one feeding him the ball.

Tough game, quite physical. I thought the ref was light on with dishing out the yellow cards and let too much go unpunished. In my opinion Jaffas could have and probably should have been down to 10 players midway through the first half. Again my opinion only, I agree with Alton’s post that Magic were too good on the day.
