Its not complex guys.
For yesterdays games, if second leg isn't played, the result of the first leg will stand. (Therefor Kotara, Suns, Suns should go through)
For today's games, if they cant get 1st/2nd leg on, then highest ranked team will go through. (Suns, Kotara, Suburbs)
This is how it should be, and this is how it would have to be.

Why cant Jesmond move this fixture somewhere else ?? Have jesmond officials explored this option - playing games on Thursday is stupid then to back up saturday

You would think its in jesmonds best interest to get the game on early this week, finishing 3rd they are on the chopping block if no games get on . They should be contacting the nelson bay , game guaranteed to get on there. Even old heaton park From what I remember it was ok with the rain

I believe so. I'm sure all clubs will be notified shortly.
Weather permitting; third grade fixtures between Kotara & N Bay, reserve grade Suns & N Bay and first grade Suns & Bero moved to Magic park, same times as usual on Sunday 31/08/14.
If the weather does not hold up, games will be rescheduled to Connolly Park.

Anyone interested....
We're doing what we can to get these fixtures on, including exploring the option of moving it away from Jesmond Park as it was pretty ordinary yesty and although there's some sun now, I'm not sure how long it will last and it pissed down last night.
If there's an official from another ground who knows their ground is somehow fine we're happy to hear from you about prospect of playing there.

Connolly Park isn't too bad. The pitch in the middle is a bit soft, but I'd say it's playable. We haven't had any training sessions called off at all.

Shouldn't it be the other way around in terms of who does the legwork?
It's a shame that Jesmond Park has again not held up in the weather. Has there been any talks of relocating the club permanently?

Tonight's game Jes v Suburbs is unfortunately off. We were all but set to play at Heaton but NCC wouldn't open ground (even with Newcastle Football speaking with them) and the recent showers didn't help our cause. Looks like it's a one-off game on their deck for a spot in the GF.
We'll know at 2pm tomorrow if either Jesmond Park or Heaton Park is open and fit for tomorrow's games, if not I guess all 3 grades will be in the same situation.

So the first grade game is called off for tonight, but if the sun shines and weather isn't bad they'll play the reserves and thirds tomorrow night? Why wouldn't they prioritize the first grade game for potentially tomorrow?

Would be a tough call on the Suns after winning the first game, but technically the game is only half over therefore you would think Bero should go through based on finishing higher, but hopefully rain goes away and all games are on

Just received this from the boss man.
Afternoon,
League 1, 2 & 3 have commenced their Semi Final process, some have completed their first leg and others have not. Premier Division commences this weekend and they may meet the same obstacle with regard to the washout of venues. In addition to the email sent last week I now add the following:
League 1, 2, 3
If Leg 1 has not been completed then it is now declared cancelled; move onto Leg 2 this weekend, take all necessary steps to play the match (as noted below #2) if washed out you will have the opportunity to reset for mid-week to obtain as result – this match is now a ‘knockout’ match, winner is through to the Grand Final (#5). Extra Time for 1st Grade only (2 x 10 mins), then Shootout, other Grades to Shootout.
If you have completed Leg 1 and Leg 2 is washed out, the opportunity to reset next week is available; if this match is not played, Leg 1 result will be cancelled and the two teams finishing 1st & 2nd on the Ladder will progress to the GF.
Premier Division
Take note of the above direction and the information below.
________________________________________
1. Play all matches with safety a priority.
2. If you can move to another venue then do so; contact all clubs at your ground and contact Gail or myself to pass the change onto the State League Referees.
3. With the Referee involved decide if postponing 3rd & or Res Grade and only playing 1st Grade is viable.
4. Any matches washed out on the weekend will have an opportunity to be reset next week before Leg 2.
5. If these matches are not played by Leg 2; then the match is cancelled and Leg 2 becomes a ‘knockout’ match to reach the Grand Final. NO AWAY GOALS will be involved in the outcome.
6. If you ground has no chance of playing on the weekend, then contact Gail in the normal procedure for notifications of washouts.
7. Start your negotiations for resets immediately; the two 1st Grade Clubs will nominate a day for their match – in League Two/Three Res Grade will play on the same night; if League One, 1st will play on the determined night with 3rd & Res Grade either the night before or after.

For all those that feel hard done by, I think this is equally frustrating for all and it's interesting to note that the only NCC ground open is #2.
As for the discussion above re: Bero v Suns. No way! Yes Bero are minor premiers but they had the opportunity to host Suns and got beat on their own deck. Rain between now and next Friday and I'd say Suns would deserve to go through. Wont come to that though, confident there will be an opportunity for us all to play.
Just got email that GS v Jes has been moved to Sunday at Ulinga. Would have been nice to end the season or celebrate a g/f birth on Saturday night but well done Suburbs for being pro-active.

28-08-2014, 03:50 PM
It is a tough call on the Suns, but that's life. It doesn't take away the joy we had in beating them on their own deck last week. Don't worry, it's just a little extra motivation (not that we needed any) to go out and finish the job on our own ground this weekend!
I was also just notified that our 3rd grade game (I'm assuming all fixtures 2 v 3) has been moved to Sunday @ Ulinga Park - Cardiff.

3rd Grade Kotara 2 - 1 Nelson Bay (Kotara win 6-1 on aggregate)
Res Grade Suns 4 - 1 Nelson Bay (Suns win 9-3 on aggregate) Could be wrong about that final score and aggregate, but its close to that.
From Ulinga
3rd Grade Suburbs 1 - Suns 1 (Suns win on penalties 4-2)

Honestly though, was a very tough game to play in.
We (suburbs) came out maybe a little too fired up which showed from our 7-8 yellows and a red. Credit to Jesmond for how unphased they were, they kept pushing even after some brutal tackles from us. Shout out to Nathan Andrews there, gun player and still forcing chances late in the game even when he was ****ed. We always believed we'd come back and win it but we pushed too hard for the 3-2 and had no juice left.
As far as the banter from the crowd, the atmosphere was amazing. It's great to see the level of support from the crowd that both teams had yesterday, really lifted everyone on the field. Though if we're going to call out particular members of the crowd for inappropriate banter, I'd like to mention that it went both ways. I was pretty disgusted with some (racist) remarks I heard from the Jesmond supporters. If you're going to dish out something like that, don't come on here and bitch when it comes back at you.
In the end though, Jesmond pulled out the result and the truth is they outplayed us when it mattered. Best of luck to them next week, I hope they win it.
Meanwhile, I'll be licking my wounds. Busted up knee, bruised from my shoulder to elbow (pretty sure I strained my bicep), back like a pensioner and a pulled heartilage. Probably wouldn't be able to back up next week anyway. Why do I play this sport? Cos **** you, that's why. Will just have to win it next year, Forza Kingfisho!
Racist remarks from jeso ? All I heard was a burbs supporter call a bloke an Asian c***! Pathetic really

Yesterdays match at Ulinga must have been a cracker for the neutral and fans of both clubs. I think it's already been said from elsewhere but thanks to South Cardiff for hosting our match day. I hope you made some good coin out of it and hence made it worthwhile for you. Cheers to Garden Suburb president Damian too who kept us posted all the way.
Firstly Lez does divide opinion but the quality of his latter 2 goals was quite outstanding. There's a lot that goes toward being the best player in the comp so I'm not willing to make that call, but hard to argue with his playing ability being the most effective.
Re: the red card. My watch said on 35 mins. I think someone from GS has already mentioned how you were flying into tackles so I don't need to elaborate. The red was coming. We got one yellow for a late but not malicious tackle on Bobby who's speed simply got the better of our stopper.
Re: the crowd. I didn't hear anything that overstepped the mark from either set, but hardly was listening out for it either from the dugout. Just glad our supporters more than matched the noise with the massive GS contingent.
Nothing has been mentioned of the ref who I thought had a very good game. Certainly shouldn't be any complaints because if there was team who could have got an extra pen it was us.
There were quality goals from both teams but I honestly think the difference was our comradery, discipline and we simply didn't have a bad player. I'm not sure Garden Suburb can say that was the case for them in any of those 3 areas.
The overwhelming majority were very good sports after the game it must be said, shaking hands and genuinely wishing us the best of luck for next week. A few even took the time to pop their heads into our sheds or stay around for a chat afterward.

Just 1st grade, same as the Semi's
I know a few of the other boys (Premy and Ninja) have already said it, but congratulations to Jesmond on their win.. Hard fought game, a little spiteful in parts but overall I think it was played in good spirits..
It must have been a corker of a game to watch as a neutral supporter. Back and forth, had a bit of everything - cards, penalty, send-offs, some amazing goals..
Going 2-0 down and losing a player relatively early on was always going to make it an uphill battle for us, however we showed some heart and fought back to take the lead.. Credit to Jesmo for using their width and really stretching us out, the last 15 minutes our gastanks were empty and they never gave up..
Should be a ripper of a match against Bero, I'll definitely be getting there to check it out..
As for all of this talk about the "banter" that went on.. To be honest, on the field anything and everything that I heard was all good, light-hearted and well-aimed (I even heard the Jezzo supporters cheering on Westy Wayno at one point!! hahaha).. I wasn't aware of any "unpleasantness" allegedly occurring until after the game when I was back in the sheds..

So being racist is an ok reaction to the opposition playing physical?
Alternatively, people could stop saying stupid shit like that and accept that racism isn't accepted in this sport. If you want to carry on like an idiot, go watch Thugby.
Racism is obviously bad enough in this sport without ridiculous remarks like this.
Hopefully there is none of this crap on the weekend. Good luck to both teams in the GF.

I didnt hear anything racist. Most of the abuse came from the Suns supporters sitting on the container. Plus the bar kept serving the Berro supporters so they didnt have a problem taking there cash. Berro players and supporters are good blokes. As for Thugby I bet you sit down and watch the footy every weekend.

I'll confirm, Suns did kick the shit out of Bero and I don't think it was appropriate, but they deserve it ;) It's the first time I've seen the Suns play the way they did, ever. It was disappointing to see that behaviour, because that's not what we are about. Especially when you're trying to egg it on to hope that Bero get involved and miss out on the GF - simply poor. Mind you, this happened in ressies too (from N Bay). Players in ressies were actually saying to each other let's get these c**ts so they miss the GF next week - I don't rate that sort of poor sportsmanship at all.
The racism card is something that's happened for years. I've learned to ignore that, but it does take some time as it's disgusting to hear and not needed. Call me a dirty c**t, not a dirty w*g c**t.
Anyway, I like the competiveness between Suns & Kotara. I have plenty of mates that play for them and couldn't be happier that we are both the only clubs with 2 teams in the GF. Good luck to all on Sunday, hopefully the sun comes out from behind the clouds and rain. Should be a cracking day of football @ Magic Park!

One incident where the suns keeper got sent off was embarrassing, knowing the keeper honestly thought he was a better person then that! I guess everyone gets caught up in the moment

i thought both teams gave as good as they got with both teams receiving a number of cards
agree we did lose our cool and our keeper lashed out which was out of character for him and deserved his straight red to make it equal numbers again at 10 v 10.
After the game was done and the dust had settled both sets of teams congratulated each other and i think it was all forgotten with both captains visting the opposition sheds for some well wishes
heard a few racist remarks on the day but you know what i dont care anymore coz if thats all you got to come out with than actually feel sorry you.

Congrats to Bero on minor and major premiership, the latter secured with 3-1 win over us yesty.
A 5 minute period in the first in which they scored 2 goals set up the win. We got one back and were knocking on the door for an equaliser, even hitting the crossbar but a slightly contentious penalty put the game to bed. I say slightly because it honestly could have gone either way and I don't have complaints as the ref saw it the way he did and ruled accordingly.
Couldn't be prouder of our mob. We were a tad awestruck for the occasion I think and beaten by a better team on the day in the end. Our support was great as were the neutrals who I think wanted our fairy tale after promotion to come true nearly as much as we did.
Enjoy it Bero. Minor and major is a great achievement and I thought you conducted yourselves very well. No complaints.

what I said
There were no numbers issued, Just the first 5. The ref never asked for an "order" per-say. But look the chips fell where they lay, we had 80mins to win the game and 5 penalties just the same as Kotara. So that's what our coach was blowing up about. Why an order is of that importance is my question, you have the first 5 so why bother with a specific order? It's not like you know your keeper will save penalty 3 or 2 or any advantage.

I've never been involved in a penalty shootout where the ref hasn't demanded the order of the first 5 beforehand tbh - it is strange if they didn't ask for it in this game, or if they changed the numbers of the order. My guess is the team official accidentally gave the wrong numbers/order, but obviously I wasn't there and can't back said claim up.
I asked a ref once why they needed the specific order and it was "so they made sure the same guy didn't kick it twice before the entire team had a kick each". Which made me never understand why they couldn't just record the number of the kicktaker after the kick, but anyway.

There is always a predetermined order of kickers.
That's part of the joys of the penalty shoutout.
Even juniors have to designate a particular order.
World cups they designate a particular order...
NPL they designate a particular order.
And it's for the reason you mentioned, so teams cannot change the order to suit their needs. Eg if johnny get nervous and you want him to take a pressure free kick you can't send him in 3rd at 2-0 if he was designated last. That's all part of the tactics of a shoot out.
Commiserations, complete heresay but if the referee didn't specify there needs to be an order, then that's an unfortunate shortcoming of the referee involved.

For kotara we got together straight after the whistle the first two takers put their hand up straight away then the coach agreed with the next four players what order they would go..... we then supplied the ref with this order - names and numbers
i would have thought he would have got the same from the suns

thats the funny thing he never actually asked us for the order (hes exact words were " who are your top 5 penatly takers") but we gave anyways and he got them wrong but we clearly heard him ask kotara for their penatly takers in order
same thing actually happened last week in the 3rd grade penalty shoot out the ref never asked for the order just said who are your 5 and one of our players had to be called back by the ref because it wasnt his turn
like NWM said in no way are whinging about the result full credit to kotara just saying the ref made a mistake taking down the order, we all know they make mistakes just like we all do

I agree, referees fault if they did not specify.
Though clarification could've been sought after you heard red ask for the exact order from the other team.
And the fact that you had a similar mishap for failing to provide the proper order merely weeks ago.
Idk, on fifa you mark out your kickers and can't change the order. Fifa is right.

Hey, I'm on your side...kind of.
However, you must admit it's pretty poor form not specifically advising teams that their list of kickers needs to be in kicking order.
Was there a memo sent out regarding the shoot out?
Would have alleviated confusion if the referee specified that there needed to be a specific order, though.
But, as you said they missed 3 anyway. There's been a order of kickers for as long as I can remember. Fifa do it. They heard the referee tell the other team it needed to be in order. They had the same incident occur the week before and didn't learn from it.

As you said there has been an order of kickers for a long time-therefore clubs should have been aware of it and be responsible for their own actions
With regard to your comment on whether a letter had been sent to the clubs regarding the kicks if you refer to the playing rules of the competition-Clause E09(b) the rules are clearly set out and I am sure that all clubs have a copy of them and are fully conversant with them-not.
Easy the blame the referee as usual.

Hopefully this might clear up the penalty shoot-out kicker order fiasco:
We (Kotara) sorted out our order pretty quickly out in the middle. Then I was approached by the 4th official and he asked who are the 5 kickers and he'd put a dot next to their name on the team sheet. I said dont you need an order? He said oh yeah i suppose we should, so i specifically told him the shirt numbers in order, which he noted on the team sheet. He wasn't going to ask for them until i pointed out that the order is required. I was a bit underwhelmed by the lack of knowledge and 'officialdom' from the 4th official, so to make sure of the process, we wrote down the names and order and gave them to the referee. I guess we were a bit pro-active in overcoming the poor form of the men in charge. Shouldn't have to, but we did.
I guess what I'm saying is that neither team were asked for an order due to an oversight by the officials, but we provided one because its just what you do.
