If the relationship between the squad and the coach has broken down to the extent where the players bypass him and go to the level above for a resolution it says there is clearly a communication problem. They don't agree on a common direction. In a business sense, a good manager should be open to listening to suggestions from their employees but ultimately make the decision. Tinkler has clearly sided with the manager because he thinks his approach is the right way.
However as many have said, I don't think Stubbins is the right person to be doing the sweeping (as many have said). We now have (again) a very young team, with no senior experience apart from Zenon, Kanta (who is still, what, 25?) and Kennedy who have really played any sort of A-League football. The situation we've created is we are still an unattractive destination for players and we will be paying overs to attract them.
I will be interested to see who gets brought in, if anyone, to replace them.
