This is actually our hardest WCQ campaign in Asia so far and it was always going to be

Ange mentioned this when he took the job. They modelled it off the Germans from memory where they had to increase the player pool and lower the average age.

I think the confederations cup will be a good thing. Get the players away in camp for a few weeks, play a minimum of 3 matches and come back with the eyes on finishing off the qualification in style against Japan and Thailand.

It was a very quiet crowd last night. I wish we had the sporting mentality to make it difficult for visiting teams by creating a hostile atmosphere but it's not in our nature generally.

I watched the game live in Bangkok

For the first 20/25 mins we dominant

We got the early goal but we didn't seize enough control

Then after that they grabbed a goal from their first notable attack

Did they deserve it ?? No

From that moment on they just grew in confidence
The crowd roared them on

Our blokes were lethargic and struggling in the heat and humidity

To be fair we were lucky to escape with a point

But here is the thing

I watch the football in Thailand
They are not as bad as their FIFA Ranking
They are not as bad as their WC Qualifier results

They just lacking self belief

Might take a decade or two to get it through their ears but they will surpass our country one day in the pecking order or football

So don't think the result was a poor one because it isn't

Thailand have one point....we are undefeated but have drawn four games.

Those two points will come back to haunt us.

Drawing a long bow, but if we happen to play Syria in the next round (as is still possible) and they hold a minutes silence for victims of US bombing, it would not be comfortable for our guys.

I wasn't comfortable when they announced it in respect to who the opposition was.

Sent you a photo so you can confirm I was wearing Socceroos 2006 Shirt at the game

Didn't need to worry about it as I had enough sauces on the ground in LoS that I in daily contact with to know the mourning period finished a few days before the game

I also knew the booze stopped after his death but kick started flowing again 2-3 days later

Plus as for the beer showers

I honestly not recall their being booze at the ground for sale

From memory I was drinking cups of molassis at the game they were hawking from downstairs

Ain't much of a catering contract at Rajamangala Stadium

But black armbands were handed out in Aussie bay as a gesture for the home fans.. and from what i hear they were well received by the locals.
