I think we have 4 of 5 of our preferred front 3 signed. Sotirio will be the 5th.
Midfield will be thurgate and O'Neill with a yet to be signed player as a 10.
Back 4 as is so far.

Sotirio will be spending most game days in the stand in his club after 5's or at home on away game weekends watching from his lounge.
At least we won’t have a “not my squad” to fall back on.
Aside from penha, seems like we are identifying targets and getting them. Much the same as we identified those to let go. I imagine all would have been happy to stay.
So we let Yuel go. And signed Buhagiar. Yeah. Cool. Go Jets
Yeah I get that. There's more of a connection with Yuel though. Who's Buhagiar? Ex coastie and Sydney FC? No thanks.
Give a local bloke a go. Bring back Virgilli. Play Hoff on the wing.
We're replacing a decent A-league player with a decent A-league player who stinks of sccum.
Would you rather win 1-0 with a team of coasties or lose 1-0 with a team of locals? Sure professional sport is all about winning. But what good is winning when you've got no connection to your local club?
Play the kids. Play the locals. Sure bring in quality, but Buhagiar ain't it imo
I get the vibe that our club has very little interest in our locals atm. If Archie wasn’t already signed to the club when Papas got here it wouldn’t surprise me if we still looked elsewhere.
None of our younger signings under Papas have been newcastle related and based on rumours it doesn’t seem like that’s going to change this off season either.
If you want to watch locals go watch Broadmeadow or wateva, this is a business about getting more bums on seats. I was a temp for many years but became a member when they signed 2 blokes from England
I bet you're in a very small minority. Sure those big names get people in the gate but the club's done nothing to keep them coming back.
The fact it is a business and the team is a franchise is exactly the feeling you get from them club and it's exactly why the league as a whole is struggling.
Of course I'd want to support a successful side. But I think a side you have zero connection with is some pretty hollow success.
I used to be hugely emotionally invested in the club, but I can feel it slipping away.
Fair enough about Yuel, I didn't realise that. Good luck to him. Signing blokes like Buhagiar and especially Sotirio as replacements isn't very inspiring. Just the A-League merry go round
He is 100% correct though. Professional football, not just this league, is about results and money....whatever it takes. And that involves high player turnover and favourites who dont hang around. People want winners...how many people do you know who support an EPL club outside the Sky 6?
I'll take the entire Coastie team if it guarantees us trophies!
I agree with your sentiment but sadly those days are gone for now.
anyone aware if the rumour we are chasing Ninkovic has any substance behind it or is it just hot air? seems like a somewhat odd choice if there's any truth in it
Jets have signed Sotirio for 2 years
To whom it may concern at the Jets.
Please do not use the word explosive to describe Sotirio as it makes you look really silly and never seen him play.
Cheers

agreed in the disappointment about Sotirio, especially the two years stuck with him bit, can't help but think this one is a dud signing and probably using way too much of our salary cap than he is worth...
If Sotirio is considered a first 16 player then we clearly have a work experience person with too much power at the club making signings. If he is considered to be further down the pecking order than that then perhaps that squad spot could have been earmarked for a local worthy at a shot this level eh.
Rory Jordan has been signed on for 2 years
Can’t say I’m overly familiar with him but according to some in the know this is quality signing
all these *engines*, just hope we've got someone lined up who can distribute a ball to them...
Lucas Mauragis has been signed on for two more seasons and loaned out to Wellington for this upcoming season
Great news that hes signed on for two more seasons..
Stupid news that hes loaned straight to the Kiwis..:facepalm:
Considering we are about to announce their LB from last season, McGarry, this isn't a bad idea. Papas wants someone more 'finished product' for the position, which he gets, and we don't automatically lose a talented player in Mauragus.
I love Mauragus, so I'd love to see him starting every week, but that's based on emotion and not purely for footballing reasons. You can definitely see the gaps in his game that's need work. Hopefully he can fix those in NZ and come back to us even better. Either way, I'm happy he isn't going well sit on a bench for the majority of the season.
Shrinking squad, not much room for youth, owner sharing some of the load, making club look attractive?
We've signed Mark Natta for two seasons.
That's the name that was posted then deleted
Good signing, young mobile defender who has good passing ability as well. Lots of people complaining about letting Mauragis go on loan and signing Natta don't seem to understand that Natta is a CB
Seems like a better youth player then Warland so happy to see us signing improvements
Jordan O’Doherty - N/A
Mario Arques - N/A
Olivier Boumal - Reno Piscopo
Daniel Penha - N/A
Brandon Wilson - Brandon O'Neil
Dylan Murnane - N/A
Valentino Yuel - Jaushua Sotirio
Taylor Regan - N/A
Savvas Siatravanos - Trent Buhagair
Samuel Silvera - Rory Jordan
Riley Warland - Mark Nata
Lucas Mauragis (Loaned to Wellington) - N/A
Those are the like for like replacements we've signed so far this off season
Need to sign a left back (McGarry) and a replacement for Penha above all else
Papas has signed really well.
O'Neil is the player that will provide the team with a real competitor that will give the team believe that they can compete in the middle of the park.
Piscopo and Buhagair are players that are primed to take their games to the next level. Attackers with pace and skill and both at the age where the next year is the one which they could really kick on.
Natta, why not. Left sided Central defender. Look at Kyle Rowles, investing in good defenders could really be fruitful for the club.
Interesting Steve Ugarkovic gone to Wellington, a backwards step in my opinion. Obviously the jets weren't interested after the way he departed, Possibly consider O'Neil a better fit.
Signed McGarry for 2 years
