there has to be some sort of 2nd tier, otherwise where would those clubs go.. The rules will be modyfied if worst comes to worst

Yes if there is an NPL 2, the same Criteria is still in place - 2 B Licences, 1sts/20s/18s etc
They will be lucky to have 10 teams qualify at this rate.
There should be a 2nd division of sorts with a view to be compliant by 2020.
But will FFA let NNSW have it? That's a whole different arguement. There would be a lot money left on the table if 2nd Division were to end.
Disagree
Anyone volunteering for anything needs to pull their head out of their arse if they expect thank yous
If they are doing it for praise then they are going to be sorely disappointed
I am on a committee myself.
JI don't do it for praise or from thanks by our members. Nor do I expect a pat on the back or any praise for my efforts.
I do what I do because someone had to do it and I a see it as my opportunity to contribute.
95% of the work is done by 6 people. If the other 50 feel the need to praise us or criticise i couldn't give a ****.
I do what I because helping out running the thing is what I believe in
I see blokes on the committee who see themselves as above themselves and expecting praise or favour in return for their efforts.
They have the wrong attitude.
You do it for the group to benefit not for yourself
Too many people on committees think they are bigger than the club or an indispensable part of it. They are just a volunteer that is all
Great decision
So 3/5 of these nominated overage players won't get to play each week because you don't have 20 players playing 1st grade every week aka top 20 players coming back in to play in u20s for fitness and taking up those allowed spots?
The biggest thing to come out of this is the 180 points. There is no way clubs can go out and sign 4 or 5 new players every year anymore as its impossible to stay under the points cap which is what it was meant to do. Wait for the blow up from certain clubs over this
Can someone shed any light on the latest kneejerk reaction by NNSWF?
So they are going to allow clubs to register 5 overage players outside of the PPS but you can still only have have 5 play in 20s?
Assuming all your PPS players are over 20 that means you will have 25 players overage registered and just 5 can play 20s leaving 20 players for the first grade fixture.
If all players are fit that means 6 will not get a game - not even off the bench.
Who would sign on to this arrangement?
What is this meant to achieve?
It forces clubs to have young players in their pps. Most clubs will go with around 15 1st grade players in their pps and the other 5 spots will be taken up by 16 or 17 year old kids to keep their points under 180. Then the 5 overage players outside the 20 will make up half of your 20s side. Or so I would assume
I was really hoping for the open reserve grade to get up. IMO the quality of the comp has deteriorated since it went to under23s/22s/whatever.
its what the clubs asked for in their letter to NNSWF when they called for the meeting last week. NNSWF with an appropriately proportioned compromise, regardless of what the clubs WANT if we want to be part of the NPL FFA line.
If we want to be part of the big picture we need to roll our sleeves up and work and be dynamic. FFA Cup is best thing to happen in football in this region in many years, clubs should not jeopardize the opportunities if affords our clubs and region as a whole. We would probably have to qualify through old state cup (whos going to run it) then play Sydney teams if we decided not to participate in NPL and forgo our 2 reserved tickets to the round of 32, which would be given to other state federations. Oh but wait, lets have Men of Football run our comp, in which case FFA wont recognize us and we wont be able to participate in any competition, FFA Cup, NPL Final Series, etc. We can have a gala day with St George Football Association and Tim Cahill's Coaching School.
180 PPS not enough.... changing player penalty should be put back to its original 8 from its watered down 5.
I Don't think Men of Football want anything to do with this, as secretary we are only here to help others who need a hand, not for those who can't help themselves, if you get my drift
So how come the EPL has an u23s "EPL2" if players are suppose to be good enough by the time they're 20?
Who gives a **** about the EPL
The FFA are on a program to encourage clubs to better develop players by raising standards so players are ready for First Grade at younger ages. This will in the future develop better calibre of players at all levels of the game and not just the elite professional level
This is part of their strategy
Now considering the standard of the English NT there is hundreds of issues with the set up of the game in England.
Why one would want to follow their lead defies logic just as using them as an example defies logic
So any scores?
Edgy 2 Maitland 2
It worked a treat. Shame it killed the game though. One of the poorer games this year. Maitland sat back just about always having 6 guys behind the ball or more, left and right back never once went forward. Maybe Maitland are hoping that Edgeworth will rest players next weekend in preparation for the western Sydney game? Gutsy call.
Resting players would be a dumb move for Edgeworth IMO.
It kind of looks like Maitland think they haven't got a chance dealing with edgeworth on a wide pitch. Should be an interesting return fixture next weekend.
The best game is tomorrow. Cant wait to watch the riverly, should be a cracker.
FT
Olympic 1
Magic 3
Cometh the hour
Cometh the man
Game on the line at 1-1 with 10 to go.
Kale delivers
Let the Fapest begin
I think Olympic are lucky Goodchild only got a yellow for that studs up aggressive tackle just after Kale put Magic in front.
That is gonna give them some hope.
Exactly what Olympic were doing going one on one at the back in the last 10 beats me
At 2-1 down going into second leg they are well in the tie.
Going 1-1 with Kale and Virgili who had them for speed seemed suicidal.
They eventually got burned for doing so
I can see Magic winning the game next week as well.
They only need to sit in and bludge off the pace of Virgili and Kale as Olympic push forward.
The more Magic hold them out the more desperate Olympic will become and will have to leave space at the back again.
Olympic were not at their best today that is for sure but they were exposed when put under some pressure.
To be fair they offered very little in the second half and when they went behind their attack got very narrow and unimaginative.
Gonna have to play a hell of a lot better next week and hope Magics attack is off.Even 1 goal to Magic and they are just about ****ed I fhink
I reckon it about 80-20 Magic winning the tie at the half way point
With a strengthening of the squad next week with the inclusion of Ireland and Brown I'm sure that it will be a different story next Saturday night. It's been shown week in week out that Olympic are unbreakable at home. We are at half-time in this tie and only a brave man or fool would write this tie over.
Hopefully by next weekend the linesperson can check the rule book to confirm you cant be offside in your own half...
Also shout out to the Hamilton supporters that tried to walk in with 15 pizzas and got your young children to carry the boxes... very classy... how many games did your team win today?
Not a very classy post, you should try winning with dignity
Nothing to do with pizzas mate, it's the last comment in your post I felt was uncalled for
