At this stage Griffiths and Carney have replaced Brown and Gibbs/Bridges. I reckon that's an upgrade on those players contributions last season. There is a chance, however, Griffiths may end up being the Heskey replacement which I accept.Quote:

I can see your point and how it looks on the surface. Dig a little deeper, however, and it's not for lack of trying from these two players.
If we recruit players who can either take advantage of the opportunities Carney creates or give Griffiths a chance to score more then we've improved. I think, and it's only my opinion, we've retained the quality and removed the dross. If you were questioning the retention of Brown, Ward, Gibbs etc then yes I'd agree.
I was never a middleby doubter.
But he is converting some I am sure at the moment.
If we don't keep Taggart for next season I would say make Griff our Taggart replacement and sign someone else too be our Heskey replacement.Quote:
