    I think the favourite is the one to beat but like you say

    Not in a million years would I have predicted the winner of this years cup.

    The slow pace coming out absolutely killed the favourite and the genuine stayers in general when the race became a sit and sprint.

    Great result for the bookies as well.

    So, in the interest of fairness, how likely will it be that Melbourne papers report on the number of people ejected from today's Melbourne Cup, just like they did with the Melbourne derby?

    Probably about the same odds of the winning horse...
