What's everyone's predictions for the weekend. Magic 2-1 in 19s, Edgeworth 3-1 in 22s, and Olympic 2-1 after extra time in firsts
I agree everyone is entitled to a few poor games. I also concede that Ireland is a better keeper than Fogarty. But from what I have seen I don't believe he is head and shoulders above the rest and enough to win Hamilton the GF. From what I have seen Swancott is still the best keeper and Evans and Hammel have a touch more class than the rest who will play on Sunday. If those two play to their potential and the rest of the team play at a similar level to what they have all year Edgey will win and it wouldn't matter who was between the sticks for Olympic. Having said that anything can happen on the day and if Fogarty or Edgey as a whole are slightly off it will be a different story.
On another note I was just driving past Mattara Dry Cleaners and saw Warren Mills walking in. Looks like he could be ramping up the fashion stakes a bit for the big occasion.
Olympics older heads I think will get them through, I'm concerned the occasion may get to some of edgeworths younger ones, I could be wrong though
my predictions , toilets will be spotless , bumper crowd , one send off , fight start from edgy bench , toe poke will win the game and northern and magic will walk away with a wheelbarrow full of money .
Not sure about the toilets
can anyone confirm this one, Greg Asquith to coach Olympic 22's ????????
I don't think he's got what it takes with a first grade squad at the moment.
Will probably do decent things with Olympic 22s if true. But that's the crux, it's easy to do well with good players. It's all about getting that little bit more.
Part of me thinks he tried to get southy playing a bit too much. They really needed to be pragmatic and doing what was necessary to get a point from games, and occassionally try and go for a win.
Piggo was especially good at getting his squad to do the basics and grind out results.
When your best 6 players are out for 8 weeks it makes it extremely difficult, those around our club know the reasons we struggled and that reason is the huge injury toll we had at our club through no one else's fault,
Please do not comment on what you think happened as it's not true, every one tried there hardest and best but it wasn't to be, full stop
Nobody is saying they were not unlucky throughout the season. There were some big injuries and really good players were unable to play, and things probably would have been a bit different had the injuries not occurred.
I'm entitled to my opinion. Which part in particular do you believe to be not true?
The part where I said he's not up to first grade? I think he needs more experience with a 22s team in NPL being around the senior squad more before making the step up. What was it? 3 years with southy 19s, 3/4 season with magic 23s and back to southy 19s then first grade? Im all for southy giving him a shot, he's a great guy.
The part where I said he would do wel with a good squad? His success with 19s at southy and Magic 22s was largely due to the calibre of player. For his philosophy to work, he needs technical fit players. But anyway. I think he would be capable of getting some good results with a quality experienced squad.
the rape and pillage has begun, good luck Mr Packer hope you can keep some of your players.....cant say much more might upset someone.......
but then again.......
I have removed some posts regarding Greg Asquith and I will warn people again about posting bollocks as fact on a publicly accessible forum.
Jardelsimage - I am looking at you.
