I think Carney is a good player, He is highly competitive and probably feels let down as he is playing some decent football and the team in general isnt.

The jets should do the right thing and offer him a contract. He deserves it.

It's hard to determine what to do with Carney. On one hand, the amount of coin he's on is generally what some of the better players inside the cap are on in the league, so getting rid of him and getting another higher quality player in the team could be big for next season. But, will the Jets actually sign someone who is better then Carney is the question and we really can't be trusted to do so. Carney is one of the better players we have bar none, but I refuse to believe we can't get someone better on the same amount of coin he is on

The problem is that this club cannot attract quality players. Is it the perceived poor management, do they think Newcastle is a hole, or do they doubt the club's future? Whatever the reason, better players don't come here. We got Carney cause no one else wanted to take a punt. He came here cause no one else wanted him. Right now, he is our best player. Without him we would be dead last again. Is he overpaid? Possibly. Are we going to get another player on that money who is that influential? Probably not. Keep him. Use him to attract some young up and comers. Use him to get us up the ladder. If we pay over the odds then so be it as we cannot get anyone as good or better.

You real believe that? Newcastle doesn't have a problem attracting players here, it's the people who work for the Jets who have a problem attracting people here.

Covic, Zelic, Okon, Milicic, Carle, Griffiths, North, Durante just to name a few. Remo and Tsatsimas had no problem attracting quality players with the same if not less resources so what is this current mobs excuse?
