Certain sponsor (not the real estate agent...but surely he is gone too) is gone, so has all the money, so the girls have walked.
Remember we play sport for the love of it. Whether theres money or not. Men hadnt received much money here until the last 20 years. The first 100 yrs they just played for peanuts.
If you can get a dollar then by all means take it. If not, just play.
When other clubs are offering a lot more they go, even if there is now 4 players for their position and they will probably not get many 1st grade starts in that team
What does it say about the state of our NPL youth pathways when clubs demand high registration fees from families, promote the value of C‑Licensed coaching, and promise genuine development opportunities, only to turn around and import players straight into first grade?
Parents invest significant time, trust, and money believing their children are being developed for senior football, yet the pathway is repeatedly bypassed. It raises serious questions about transparency, long‑term planning, and the purpose of youth programs across the league.
It?s disappointing to see clubs proudly announce imported signings while overlooking the very players they?ve asked families to support and develop. Until there is genuine commitment to youth progression, perhaps parents should reconsider the value of the fees they?re being asked to pay to funds these signings.
One of the reasons the fees are so high is to pay for these imports.
Which club/s are you talking about
At no point is there a guarantee that rego fees will result in a 1st grade player that a club wants. They will play 1sts at some level.
Theres no guarantee that a coach with a C or B license is any good. All coaches can spout skills and tactics, only some can get the players to enact those instructions. Even less coaches can get kids going. Ive seen many coaches strutting around who think theyre top notch but they and their sycofant mates are deluded.
Just play & enjoy it & if you find a coach that is good for you or your child, stick with them regardless of club strength.

If you or your kid believed for one second that the pathway was direct then youve been misinformed.
If your kid is good enough for first grade, he'll play 1st grade, it might not just be in the shirt colour you would prefer.
Also, everyone knows who the cockhead coaches are. Do yourself and everyone else a favour and stop playing for them.
As soon as the jig is up and clubs realise no one wants to play for these fools, thats the end of them.
Nothing worse that kids going through hell and putting up with that bullshit just so they get a chance at a trophy.
Your kids destiny is in his own hands and no one elses.
Last season I watched an u14 pyl game, before hand I spoke to one of the coaches through a mutual friend, he was telling me his game formation and the process, my head was spinning, I honestly had no idea what he was talking about, them poor kids eyes would have been spinning in their heads the poor buggers, the result showed he had no right to be anywhere near developing kids, I did some research and found out he had a C licence but had never kicked a ball in anger, my question, what was his passport to get into such a position ?.
Id say he was just available every tuesday and thursday afrernoon.
I actually defend northern a bit but the way they let clubs take over JDL all those years ago has created this.

Have you not heard of Talent Scouts??? I?ve read some rubbish on here & rarely post but this tosser is next level.
Do we want a good quality League? Do we want our best young players to develop while playing with quality players both in games & at training? Do we want football to thrive in this area?
I could go on and ask many more questions but I feel that your short sightedness & nepotism regarding your child wouldn?t allow you to see reason.
They?re all to blame. Every club. If they aren?t bringing the kids up the way they?re meant to be developing them and selling that to the parents, then why are parents paying the over‑inflated fees? It?s a joke.
I’m being serious here, my comments aren’t about my own kid, they’re about the kids coming through. My kid is in the senior system but it's all the players with potential that are suffering for an opportunity, but when clubs keep bringing in players from overseas or from Sydney/Melbourne, it takes away opportunities for all our local players to thrive. We all complain about the Jets not using local kids, and now our NPL teams are starting to do the same thing. It’s embarrassing. Any club doing this should be ashamed of themselves.
