MARK BIRIGHITTI – 5
Was solid enough for most of the game, but he should have done better with David Villa's goal, after he was beaten at the near post.
DAVID CARNEY – 7
Carney was a continued threat all afternoon for the Jets and the former Socceroo put in another impressive shift.
SCOTT NEVILLE – 6.5
Did well to keep the likes of David Villa at bay for most of the match and offered great support in attack.
SAM GALLAGHER – 6
Had his moments. His combination with Kew Jaliens will only get better with time.
KEW JALIENS – 8
A fine display: Kew Jaliens.
A real rock at the back with the Jets, another fine display in a combination that still needs time to form. The captaincy seems to have taken his game to new heights.
TAYLOR REGAN – 7.5
Wasn't a fan of Taylor Regan in midfield when Stubbins first floated the idea, but Regan is proving real serviceable in that area.
JACOB PEPPER – 7
Pepper is proving to be Mr Versatility. Another strong display from the youngster, who like Regan, I initially doubted.
JOHNNY STEELE – 6.5
Didn’t have a lot of opportunity to be involved, showed some good signs in a patchy display.
JOEL GRIFFITHS – 7
Great energy: Joel Griffiths. Picture: Getty Images
Injuries are forcing Griffiths to play in a role that he is probably less effective, but he continues to show great energy and provided the cross for Edson Montano's goal.
MARCOS FLORES – 6
A much needed 70 minutes for the Argentinian. He had a half chance in the second half which he couldn't turn into a goal, and he'll be much better for the run.
EDSON MONTANO – 8
Very impressed by Montano. Not a lot was expected of the Ecuadorian going into the season, but he provides great energy, physicality and he took his goal well. He'll only improve with more game time and hopefully more goals.
Substitutes -
ZENON CARAVELLA – 5.5
Although he did provide a spark when he came on in the second half, he butchered a chance, which proved the turning point, with David Villa going down the other end and grabbing an equaliser.
ANDREW HOOLE – 6.5
Came on to replace Joel Griffiths and did well. Hoole will be pushing for a starting place as he continues his return from injury.
JERONIMO NEUMANN – 7
