Barressi does count, he has never been replaced on the roster. Welsh was signed as a full squad member

Mitch Cooper is on a senior contract, not a full time NYL.

Postman you need to add the requirement for 3 x u21 players in the full-time 20-23 man senior squad. The 3 x Full time NYL contracted players are additional to that.

I understood Lundy is a fulltime NYL contracted player on paper but trains entirely with the senior squad. I believe it was stated in the press release when he signed 1-2 years ago. I used to keep links to all these releases but lost interest a while back.

As stated, as a winger his stats are impressive in a league that seems to produce quality A-League players

I'm confident the club confirmed (from memory via twitter to grimario or someone) Cooper was one of the NYL contracts on our books, and I'm sure his contract was tied up with all these things around being a NYL player, being on a scholarship of sorts to study at the uni, and all these other things.

Is it 3x U21 NYL contracts, or is it 4 including a keeper?
    OK

He is too old to be a contracted NYL PV4. Maybe in his original 2 year contract but he signed a 12 month extension last year. Contracted NYL contracts by definition are 2 years in length and the player must be turning 20 or younger in the 2nd year. Cooper turns 21 in September

Celeski took Goodwin's spot when he left

Its 3 x u21 in the 20-23 man senior squad. You can then have an additional 3 on full-time NYL contracts. As far as I am ware only Solari and Lundy are full-time NYL players.

What is interesting with the proposed signing of Enver Alivodic, although he seems a quite good acquisition why aren't we signing a striker?

We have Montano only at the moment with a raw Pavecevic as back up. I would be surprised if we don't have a striker of some description lined up for when the mutual contract terminations are signed off. Otherwise there is only an injury replacement available for Barressi but that would be min wage.

Smeltz is off contract at the end of the season. What do people think about going after him? I'd certainly sign him! He still knows where the net is.

I would too. I think he still has a couple of years left as a top notch striker but I don't see SFC letting him go. Janko will be the one to leave imo but he is on a fortune

We Are Moving Forward that is the mantra not Needing to Sign A Forward

As if we need strikers with the style of parking the bus Mr 5% Win Rate employs??

Before the "Big Blue" there were some pretty strong rumours that Smeltz was on his way out. Now, Arnold says he isn't for sale.

I think like you've said, a lot will hinge on what they do with Janko. His agent is reportedly shopping him around at the moment. I originally thought he was a "cheap" marquee, in the range of 300-500k per season, but Fox Sports have confirmed he is on 7 figures which is more than Heskey was on with us. Whether SFC think he is worth re-signing will have to be seen. I think he is great, but that's a LOT of money.
    OK
