Love how this club babbles on about giving local kids something to aspire to but then goes and signs a young Sydney reject on an injury replacement for Virgili.....way to go Jets.....BUILD THAT STRONG COMMUNITY BOND!!!

    What do you expect??

Cowburn Pavicevic and Lundy although none have set the HAL on fire yet have at least shown the kids are good enough when actually given the opportunity.

Issue is our coaches are not good enough to develop them and actually have faith in the kids to do the job.

I would probably not self immolate (I may encourage others to do so) but I am otherwise struck for a suitable protest

destroying all merchandise and perhaps removing all reference to the Jets in any part of my life may be appropriate
    My sentiments exactly.

And I don't get the arguments for it, Simon is a rubbish player (why is a shit team like the Mariners letting him go?), along with being human trash. It would just be yet another sign that the club is eternally content with mediocrity, and ignores the small amount of fan culture that we have tried to establish for the last 10 years.

But y'know, I'm sure the Jets and Mariners media guys will have a field day come derby time #goJets #banter *kills self*

Taking the gypo issue aside I really struggle to see what the issue.

The blokes a **** but he will be our ****
I agree about the whole effort thing and that he would be our c$&t but its another reject and not just that, it's a reject from our fiercest rival. He also represents a style of play I'd rather us not see too much 'moving forward'.

Nothing overly exciting but according to soccer stoppage time we will be trialling a current New Zealand international soon. When I say current I mean in their squad to play sth Korea

If this player is of the quality that they have to trial for the jets rather than just sign, i wouldn't be getting too excited!

    Probably Brendan McCullum

Stubbins heard he was a powerful striker and thought he would have a look

Stubbins likes that he can clear the boundary. Good for us.

If he truly didn't gave any control over his early signings then you have to give him a little bit of credit for his signings. Leaky G and Alidovic have been good, Burgess looked better and more lively than Pav has most of the year and Mullen, while not great, has been an improvement on early season. Really only Cooper of the post coup era has been an absolute dud.

We should look at the Australian right back if we want someone playing state league. Oh, wait...

Gallagher signs on for another 2 years...

Or Carney has signed for an extra year... but still won't be playing in the senior squad. Lol.

The players who are out of contract at the end of this season:

    Enver Alivodić
    Zenon Caravella
    Travis Cooper
    Sam Gallagher
    Andrew Hoole
    Lee Ki-je
    Edson MontaƱo
    Daniel Mullen
    Taylor Regan
    John Solari
    Jess Vanstrattan
    James Virgili
    Allan Welsh

I fully expect this "big" announcement to be Regan and maybe a few of the new guys re-signed.
    OK

    Of those I would re-sign
    Enver Alivodić
Zenon Caravella (unless we have someone better lined up)
    Lee Ki-je
    Daniel Mullen
    Taylor Regan
