Have heard today that Nick Cowburn was not offered a Yoof contract where he would get his 45-50k a year and be part of the senior squad for next season training FT as has been widely believed to be from reports in the media this week

Have heard he is being offered a Yoof contract i.e. The same one the rest of our yoof team is on ie $100 a week and match payments for HAL appearances

If true a ****ing disgrace from these clowns

Least it'd actually make each game interesting. Even though he's a bit of a clown he's at least entertaining and would be good for a laugh

Yes it's a disgrace.....except that Nick is too old for a full time NYL contract. Those contracts are 2 years in length and the recipient needs to be no older than 20 in the second year.

If as reported he has a letter of intent for a standard HAL contract from next year then he is getting the best deal he can get bar an immediate full time contract.

What kind of contract is Brandon Lundy on? He is under contract until the of the 15/16 season.

Lundy is confirmed on a NYL full time contract and most likely Pavecevic as well

Lundy is on a NYL contract

I was told to today Pavicevic is on a full contract.

We have 2 spot available for NYL deals

Whether Cowburn is too old is irrelevant. 10 appearances and 12 vacant squad spots says he should get a deal. Not be expected to live on peanuts and be used by the club as they see fit.

What's to say next year the blokes making him these promises are still here to keep their end of the bargain or are even prepared to keep their promise being they can't be trusted??

Basically they are treating him like a chump and giving him no reward for his efforts.

No offence to Rad Pav but if he is full time then so should Cowbie, I couldn't blame him for leaving this circus.

Yep that's the one. Going into his 2nd year next season. There is no obligation by the club to confirm this type of contract, often they say they have just signed a full time contract, but Lundy confirmed this himself and so did the Jets when he signed on. The Herald has published stories describing Lundy on an apprentice contract.

Pavecevic will be on one too given the 2 year deal for a youth player. It means nothing that they permanently train with the HAL squad, it's just another type of contract but one that garuantees min HAL wage (50k or there abouts this year).

I laugh at this there is so many kids out here chasing there dream $50k at 19 is huge when the behind the scenes work is put in which not many bloggers appreciate. It is easy too opt out and go to NPL to earn a few extra dollars short term. 90% of theses kids will not proceed but will be lead to believe there is hope only to see the disgrace of a club that continue to promote or give opportunity to outsiders.

One more name to add to the list of guys that won't sign with the Jets - Corey Gameiro

Apparently next in line when Stubbins misses out on Bernie and Mclaren

So you would prefer the club pay a kid $100 a week with the sacrifices he has to make with social life and employment opportunities and expect him to continue playing in the Yoofs and then they get him to fill in with the HAL when they see fit??

Lets remember the kid has played 10 times this season so they rate him enough to do a job but then on the other hand can't be arsed giving him the security of a deal.

Sure that will make the kid feel right at home when he goes to training busting his arse for peanuts and his teammates are getting paid 10 to 20 times more than him for the same effort and have some security for their lives.

Maybe we should put all our players on one of these Youth contracts then and open up a cotton farm FFS

The standard NYL contract earns about 5k from recollection. Does anyone know if the NYL team additionally earn more for playing in the NPL outside of the NYL season? I am assuming they do.
