If the new coach was to come from the existing FFA ranks I think the best option would be Ante Milicic, followed by Tony Vidmar. If they are looking at rookie coaches I still think Arthur Papas has done more than say a Mark Rudan has, so I wouldn't mind seeing him get his chance.

Rickie Herbert's name was mentioned by the Herald late last year

I think we need to come up with a list of eight options, I'll start a new thread with a poll

Slobs has his certificates and so is a serious option

    Make this poll.
Put Stubbins as one of the options.
If anyone votes for him ban the **** out of them for eternity.

I doubt the FFA will be looking overseas for a coach

I was going to put him as an option but I don't think that is a possibility

I personally wouldn't mind Aloisi.......He already has HAL experience and left Heart well respected......it didn't work for him there but it's not to say it wouldn't work here. I like the way he analyses games......

I initially thought, no not Aloisi but didn't Ange have a break from coaching after an ordinary tenure as Youth Socceroos coach and then came back with a bang at Roar.
The main thing with a coach is that they learn by their mistakes and are flexible in their approach (something GVE failed to do).
If Aloisi learnt from his experience in his time at Heart and has become a better coach because of it, then yes he should at least be considered (definitely not the favourite) because from his time at the Heart he very much looks like he is 100% there for his players (which is a total change from Muppet)

Aloisi would also have contacts in Spain, Italy and England

Jones would be a pretty uninspiring option - but here's the updated list

    Phil Stubbins
    Ante Milicic
    Tony Vidmar
    Arthur Papas
    Paul Okon
    Mark Rudan
    Mike Mulvey
    John Aloisi
    Mark Jones

    Not a Stubbins at all.

He may not have a great winning record but his team played good football when he was here.

His efforts at getting them to play 4-3-3 and comparing it to GVE's effort were chalk and cheese

Bloke may not bring the wins we want but we would play with some style

I would say the chances of Zane being Head coach are very very slim while GVE's are virtually non-existent

The problem here is to play good stylish football you need technically good players all over the park..... and it has been a limitation for a long time at the Jets. If you can't put 5 passes together then it's always going to be difficult....

He'd be an excellent coach in a well-managed club. He kept the Jets semi-competitive under HSG-imposed stresses that are still not widely known.

Don't test the truth of what happened.

Tinkler ****ed us over the last season. Before that he gave plenty of latitude and money to the club.

There was no reason not to be successful in the early Tinkler years
