Nick Carle has Chilean heritage doesn't he? Does that count as a South American No 10?

His last contract was Nov 2014, that is a long time between matches and he is not expected here till mid September? What is he doing for the next 3-4 weeks?

Let me guess, in true Jets form they will hope to have him match fit by mid season for run into the finals?

    That's pretty ****ed

Hopefully he doesn't turn out to be a flop like several of our imports have been.

As well as saying a foreign number 9 is still to be added the herald article says "A former Gold Coast and Wellington Phoenix attacker may also be added to the roster" id be assuming that means Alex Smith who i think is a decent enough player considering the small amount of salary cap we must have!

Yeah he trialled with us and Miller said he did well but nothing would be done until the two foreigners were signed and we assessed how much coin was left.

He is probably staying in Europe for the final stages of a major career threatening knee injury rehabilitation programme before coming here.

Didn't take long for the naysayers to come out - maybe he doesn't get paid till the new owners come on board or summat.

Leonardo isn't signed as a marquee player so I don't think we should be too critical until weve seen him play a few games. He might still have a point to prove to land one last contract elsewhere so he might be a good signing for us if hes fit

My concern is that by the time he arrive here he wont have played a game for 10 months! And not because of an injury either.

I see he is listed as a winger... Is this part of our plan to have three players in Carney, Alivodic and Leonardo capable of playing pretty much across the attacking mid part of the pitch to always be able to mix it up?
