Going to be difficult to find an Aussie replacement though

It does say a lot about our club and the basket case we are that we are all happy to see the back end of arguably our best player and are offering the club encouragement to find a way to let him go

    Only in Newy ***

Come on. Any transfer fee paid for Carney will go directly to Sydney FC.

lets loose our best player (going on recent performances only) and be happy about it, this is crap, ffa will only recoup what they put into the jets from the sale of Carney, if anyone believes the jets will get rich from this then I have no idea

Carney isn't our best player. He had an outstanding first 2 games of the year but has tailed off since being switched to the right side.

Should we sell Carney is all dependant on what the money will be used for. It's going to be almost impossible to replace him with a similar quality Australian player. If the money were to be used on a foreign guest player, like Perth is doing with Keogh, then that would be worth persuing. But we would still need to sign another squad player as well to keep minimum numbers up. We most definitely should not be resigning him on the same money next season.

I am inclined to sell Carney anyway because of the type of person he is. This season and last all this guy plays for is to jump to the next contract. We pay Carbey 230k a year to be a stepping stone to a guy whose career was over before the Jets threw him a lifeline. This guy would play for ISIS if they threw him enough $$$$.

Actually there is one Aust player who could easily replace Carney and is being linked with a return to the A-League.

Sell Carneyand bring back Tags. Would be a dream come true

So assuming we lose Ki-Je and even perhaps Carney...what are our options? I don't think the left back for the youth team is quite at the level yet for the A-League, given the 1 performance I've seen, but open to discuss.

Does Jackson go out there? Do we play Cowburn there? Are there any left backs not getting a look in elsewhere who might be up for a move?

didn't Jackson play wide one game this year? seem to recall he did alright, but I don't think he's a long term prospect in that position.

HE played against Victory, kept Barbarouses fairly quiet.

Grimario is right, but given Mullen's injury do we move Jackson out there and push Kanta back again? The result of that is Watson returning to the lineup.

It was a very divisive performance on the left wasn't it? Some thought he did well and others felt he wasn't up to snuff. Also in recent weeks people seem to be bagging him out a bit more as not being the best at centre back

Also, can't we use Cowburn in that situation over Watson? Or even see how Cowburn fairs as CB and use Kanta in the mids and just forget Watson exists. At this point I'd rather see us use someone like Pawiak who made the bench a few times a couple rounds ago who has some potential then use Watson who is proven to be the worst
