That's the most tenuous link I have ever heard. If you look at SFC's bench from the Brisbane game they had Smeltz, Abbas, Dimitrejevic and Ryall. So hardly a revelation that Simon and Naumoff never made the team.

You also need to remember that the only manager that plays more defensive boring football than Miller is Arnie. So not choosing attack minded players in the run on team is not that common.
