We had a family member that passed away after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. There was a fund raising event held at the Masonic Centre at Stockton. I remember helping my aunts out in the canteen and we had access to whatever passed as "backstage" there. He did this magic trick where he put a thin metal pin through his wrist... complete with fake blood and everything. I remember him being back stage with one of my aunts who was a nurse, getting a bandage because he had accidentally knicked himself and some of the blood was real, not just fake stuff under whatever synthetic fake skin he was trying to pierce.

He also ate a lot of minties.
