They were the only three, that came back to the azzurri club last night, and maybe Kyle Hodges and I think all stayed till the death, but they are all still good mates with the Azzurri boys, so read in to it what you will, I prefer to hear from the horses mouth, rather then rumours, but im sure they'd all be welcomed.

Very good coach to bring into Adamstown, will he bring players to improve the roster? May be pushing shit up hill if the same players are going around next season.

The Swans were at Azzuri up until 2008 or so, until at least their late teens slash early 20s.
    OK

It WILL be Shane Pryce, has been reappointed for 2017/18.

With most people predicting Azzurri to be down the bottom of the table, I think he has done a stellar job to get them mid table, now just needs to take some young ones coming through in to first grade, sift through the first graders this year that didn't quite cut it with the old legs and maybe bring in one or two only, good players around the 25yo age bracket IMO

Not necessarily, the games I watched this year I found they have some decent players. Maybe add 3 key players , 1each for def, mid and attack . From what I heard they did not do much team shape etc. and definitely fix the disciplinary side of them and who knows, end of the day they have recruited one of the best coaches in the hunter

From what I have seen, they need a good striker. When Alex Reid playing a centre back is the leading goalscorer, and most of his goals were penalties says it all.

As for all the bleeding hearts and their love for reserve grade.
Can one of them actually point out why the NPL clubs can't run an open grade team playing in the Zone Leagues so all these blokes who want to stay at the club but are not good enough for first grade at 20 can do so??

Because it satisfies your wishes and also allows Northern to do as they want
Most players want to play at the highest level they can achieve , who says a fringe 20 year old won't be a regular 1st grader by 22-23, might have worked it out by then, might have been given more opportunities, tell them they have to go to the Zone leagues you will either lose them or they just drop back to Zone league standard, while the 18 year old hasn't reached expectations anyway, this is how I see how the sides will line up for the 20's based on a squad of 14, up to 4 overage players, 4 players with potential and 6 making up the numbers because the 20 years olds with potential have been moved on, not sure how that makes for a lift in the overall standard of the NPL.

And isn't that what elite sport is meant to be about??
If they ain't good enough at a young age drop down to a level lower and prove themselves just as Jamie Vardy Ian Wright etc did with themselves???

To me the mids were nonexistent, and it seemed to big gap between them and the strikers, which created a lack of opportunitys for the front,as to why a low goal scoring stat this year.
like i said a player in each attack, mid and back and they will go alright.

mate you are comparing a high level comp with plenty of talent even in the lower divisions to Newcastle football???
the standard between npl to newfm drops considerably.

I would say that whilst NPL is a strong comp it is very far from elite.
And the drop in quality from NPL to NEWFM is stark.
That's like saying now that Virgilli has scored a hatful in NPL he is of sufficient quality to have another crack at A League (he's not- no disrespect)

I have read with interest a number of times how a 12 team comp for NPL wouldn't work not enough talent, I played through the 70's and early 80's always had a 12 comp even going to 14 one year, since then the population has increased, more junior teams, more players, academy programs, NNSWIS, emerging athlete and now emerging Jets programs and with all that can't field 12 teams!!!???
Before anyone says I'm living in the past I have in the last 10 years coached at Academy level, currently coaching NPL level with a C licence and have a son playing 1st grade NPL therefore I think I'm in a position to at least offer an opinion.

Valentine trying to get CB complex up to NPL standard...
I think a lot of work needs to be done to get this pitch up to scratch. Constantly waterlogged. Good move for them to get their club playing out of CB though, better off investing the money spent hiring Cahill into developing their own facilities.
Given they have until November to get their pitch up to standard, does this mean we won't get a decision until then?

Too little too late, how long have they had to get this moving ? They have three years now to get it up to standard.

I hear Mr Tull taking a step back from all admin and football duties at Lisle Carr and taking a well earned break, like him or lump him, there is no doubting his passion for Azzurri. Hope he enjoys his retirement
