Why you advocating we sign a player that may not even for the game plan of new manager??

We seen what happened when Jones didn't utilise Kokko as he didn't rate him

The other thing to note is Foreigners can give us a point of difference under the new bloke

Why mow his ****ing grass and take up spot no 3 behind Kokko and Brown whom he may not even want either
Depends what you define the coaching role to be. The English method is too give the coach control over who he signs. European clubs have a technical director/football manager who basically signes players and the coach simply coaches.
The argument can go either way.

Seems like a bunch of unproven legends or run of the mill, recycled a-league managers.

Would love Teddy Sheringham but, one of my favourites of all time!

Another ten years of failure coming if any of those names mentioned get the job. Kewell has already failed at Watford U23's, Sherringhams stint in League 2 had him winning only 7 or so from 33 games....
The clubs doing it wrong. They should be head hunting not asking for resumes / CV's from all comers. Do your research, work out a short list and then go after them. Simply advertising it like a regular job you will end up with the same dross we have had for the past ten years or so - only the names have changed.

That would work out about one win more from 27 than we currently get. Sign him up.

Also Dunster... head hunting an employed coach/manager means money has to be given over to get them out of contract (usually). Do you really see us paying a transfer fee of sorts for a coach when we are only ever financed for bargain bin or uncontracted players?

There are plenty of top quality managers currently off contract that the Jets could approach - who would most likely never apply for the position.

Roberto Mancini,Laurent Blanc, Andrea Mandorlini, Rémi Garde,Cesare Prandelli, Paolo Di Canio, Frank de Boer...

You can apply for a position and not get it or you can be asked if you want a job without applying for it and politely decline the offer.
By not approaching some of the talent in Europe that is off contract the club is never going to know if these guys are interested or not.
These guys would not take the risk to their reputations of applying for a position at a lesser league only to be turned down.
If however, they were offered the job without having to apply it would be a lot more encouraging to them and the choice would be theirs meaning no risk to their reputations.
They could essentially talk it up as them taking on a challenge to develop the game in Australia and about adding an ACL trophy to their list of achievements.

But if the club simply leave it up to these top quality guys to apply it's simply never going to happen.

No doubt they would probably all turn the offer down if we made it as well - but at least we tried.

At the very least though the club should get one of this lot in as a consultant to tell us what we need player wise and so on.

Someone here said something recently about the Newy Herald blokes not knowing anything about the club.

I just listened to Gardiner on the Daily Football Show. No insight at all.

Furns, offer up yourself or one of your podcast buddies to DFS to discuss Newy matters in future. Just make sure you ditch all that what's your favourite breakfast cereal/football kit stuff.

    OK cu bye.

see I don't really get this attitude. I have no problem with you not rating him as a keeper, but everything I've heard about him off the field has been good. why have a go at him personally?
