Comment was based on him being the Mark Jones of Goalkeepers. And signing for the Gypos.

But you do realise the salary cap is probably needed more by the better sides??

By having a salary cap it forces clubs like us and the Gypos to spend money on useless players.

Heaven forbid they drop the Salary cap the Jets and Gypos might put money into Yoof programmes and actually get better players.

The salary cap is a good thing for the elite as it stops the smaller clubs actually trying something outside the box to get competitive

Smurfs City Victree WSW already have their advantage with the 3 marquees that are out of the grasp of the rest of the club's.

They ain't going to want to change a system that hands them ascendancy

Nah, he just wanted to tell everyone that he's a proper journo because he's been to Highbury and Old Trafford.

oh and that he knows Brad Bannister.

    Good for him.

What's Bob Dillon playing at with this line: "...worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as Pele, Maradona, Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp"?

Why did you turn them down, Furns?

Was it because of George Donikian, and how's he's a complete flog who interrupts every "interviewee" just to "ask" them a monologue that has no question?

Was it because of Adrian Houghton's struggles with grammar and overuse of cliches?

Or was it because of Mark van Aken's inability to complete a sentence without inserting an anecdote?

They're all forgivable sins (except for Donikian); maybe you should give them a go.

i actually thought that dillon article was pretty fair tbh

Imagine if they were supporting a team of no-hopers, such as, for example, the Newcastle Jets.

The Novocastrian faithful have endured seven consecutive seasons as finals spectators, and another wooden spoon campaign that cost coach Mark Jones his job.

All of which gives them licence to whinge and vent to their heart’s content.
no issue with any single part of it

In other news, the Melbourne Victory fans' website (not that I'm a Victory fan) has been struck by dwindling readership and a malware infection. The owner suggests he'll shut the site down shortly and not bother reopening it.

Well done, Furns, on outlasting an A-League giant.

    Wrong.

He's losing the battle to look like a legit journo.

George Stigler won a Nobel Prize in economics for his research on capture theory which pretty much embraces everything MFKS has said in his post.
The big players establish themselves in a market and then capture the regulator to enforce restrictive policies rather than free market ones to stop smaller / more efficient firms from gaining market power.

nothing to do with the member for retard's comment.

A salary cap and its corrupt exemptions are a farce anyway but scrapping it ensures that well have a Scottish premiership.
