Nabbout is the highest scoring non import striker in the league. The only blokes doing better are marquee / imports.

Club needs to bring in Virgili for a guest stint to remind you blokes of the difference between a-league and state league standard.

He's also 2nd in the league with assists, 6. Dimi is 3rd with 5.

well people are talking about grabbing an npl player as roy's replacement but we haven't even played kosta in his natural position and for more then 10 minutes

i don't think he will be good, but before we sign a young striker as his back-up lets actually see if the back-up striker we have is any good

Definitely a good signing, Duncan is a really good keeper but Moss is playing the best I've seen him play in ages

We've re-signed Kanta for 2 more seasons, doesn't say if he is under the cap or not

The portion of salary we can pay him will be outside the cap will be utilised for sure.

he's the only one that fits the criteria.

    You'd think towards Pato.

We all know the bloke is retiring here

Think Buijis being left out of Syd ACL squad and being off contract makes him even more of an attractive option. We should get at him especially if we take an ACL spot for next year.

Think the Gypo ade the fight call

    Got to go with
    Bobo
    Ninkovic
    Polish Wanker

    In the ACL

They the ones who going to make the diffdrence

Replacing the Dutch defender they should be able to do

It more a message that the FFA need to reign in the foreigners in the HAL to be same same as ACL anyway

HAL needs to go 3+ 1

I don't think leaving Buijis out can be underestated. He is quality at the back for them. It's putting a hell of a lot of trust in the new kid Worland. They were also mentioning Calver at CB when he's naturally a LB. If they wanted to win the thing I think they needed their championship winning CB combination on the park.

I was more mentioning that we should go after him. Depending what we do with Boogard but we are going to need some good depth come next year if we gain a spot in the ACL.
Your mentioning of the 3+1 rule is quite relevant though as you'd like to think Lee would seriously consider a high class Asian player if we make the champions league. Let's not forget that was always Lee's ambition. It will give him the biggest exposure in his target market. Still amazed how little emphasis we've made on coming 2nd.

I think we aren't getting ahead of ourselves. The chase for 2nd is quite tight. Hold on against City a few weeks back and we'd be 7 points ahead, not 4, and the conversation could be different. We've been burned too often to know better.

As for the calls to have Buijs recruited - as it stands we will be making the same decision as Sydney. I expect we'd leave Brown out but if we also recruit Buijs who would we leave out? 2 of Pato, Vargas, Roy, Brown or Buijs?

Doesnt 3rd get a plsy off spot to the ACL??

I dont think the club need to go making a song and dance about their dreams for the next 8 weeks

Bert has been pretty good using the media to keep the expectations low key as we have kept flyng under the radar and remained under dogs etc

I think the club will be desperate to cash in on the ACL this season as we probably wont get a better chance anytime soon

Gee luck wise you look at how we riding it this season at times

As for the Dutch wanker at Smurfs
Yeah he is a good player but the Gypo is going to have a harder time without Bobo Ninkovic and the Polish Wanker
Not like he can turn Matt Simon into an accomplished footballer is it??

As for The Dutch bloke coming here i all for Boogaard being shown the door

    BUT

We aint wasting a foreigner spot on a defender

Arnold likes to play a Grubby defensive game so the Dutch bloke fits in there particularly with the extra cadh Blue Aids can spend on attacking Marquees

Bert on the other hand plays attacking

Go give him some more cash to spend on blokes like Pato and Vargas and KFC Hernzndez types etc

I can't agree with this enough.

Buijs IMO was the first to be chosen for the ACL.

Seb Ryall leaving really hurt them at the back for backup etc.

Arnie builds his entire system around his back 6 of 4 defenders and 2 holding mids. Buijs & Wilkinson getting broken up is so confusing to me.

It would have been way easier to find an Asian attacker to replace one of Bobo, Nink or Adrian.

Relying on Warland and/or Calver and/or injured Grant just confuses me, and is the last thing I expected Arnie to do.

I think Buijs would be a terrific pickup for most other AL clubs, including us, but I think we'll find he's going to price himself out of the AL market pretty quickly.
    OK

    The AL gets 2.5 spots.

    Premiers get 1 spot.

    Champions get 1 spot.

If the Champions are the Premiers, 2nd place gets the Champions spot.

If Champions are 2nd place, 3rd place gets the half spot.

If the Champions are 3rd place or lower (which I don't think has happened yet), 2nd place gets the half spot.

I'm fairly sure that's all correct.
    OK

    I agree too.

I'd have left Ninkovic out, myself.

I was after clarification the other day about this. Cheers. So say we finish 2nd and Victory come from nowhere to win the GF then we go into a playoff.

I'm not really concerned about the club making a song and dance about it I was more directed at the media. I'm genuinely surprised they haven't taken that story and ran with it.. (Herald are you out there?).

In regards to Syd my opinion in Buijis should be picked. I understand keeping their front four together but they just do not have the luxury of an accomplished CB. Whereas if they left Ninko out then goals would still come from Brosque/Bobo/Polish hairless man.

If Buijis came here I agree he'd be in the same boat. But we'd have coverage in NTS and Boogs. And if the clincher was Buijis HAD to play ACL to get him there then I think we'd have adequate cover for Vargas, Pato, Roy.

Also why not push for a foreign CB? We waste it on a utility like Brown? We've got quality Aussie attackers to go with our foreign ones. Id be looking to relace Brown with a very accomplished CB or CDM.

Fox rules...the love for the attacking three from the team far outweighs that if a mere defender.

If we were to make ACL i can see Mr LED Martin Lee stepping things up to another level altogether regarding funding for the club on and off the field. McKinna makes a lot about the pride factor for Mr Lee regarding inclusion in the competition within Asia.

Think Mr Lee should charter several of A330's for each and every away game should we qualify to allow us paupers with a passport to attend games.
