fyi: i'm pretty sure the guys at the herald knew they were joking, and it was hardly a serious news story.
why do so many people on this site get so butt-hurt over nothing?
The article made the ACT section of the Sydney Herald and the gypos are crowing about it on twitter. If the herald are such local supporters why print a crap story as they did?
I think Parksey is looking for a job at the herald.
Might need to move to NZ bud.
If the article was written that way then all good. But the articles is definitely written as a slight against the boys comments. Yeah they be a bit dum for putting it on twitter but for the NECASTLE Herald to have a go without any foundation was pretty poor.
The article just fed the socca haters for no good reason.
Besides what will they do when the boys really f^*k up.
I'm guessing from Griffiths tweet, the club has reacted by stopping twitter.
Shame as it was a great way for fans to interact with the players. Well done James Gardner and the Herald.Originally Posted by RyuGriff
I don't think they did. From James Gardiner's twitter:
For the record. The Herald went to jets management over AIS remarks. They could have clarified the situation. If it was banter between teammates they should have said so. End of story. Instead they did not respond and had com removed. Twitter is the public domain. Not everyone understands or is in on 'banter' between teammates.
New Sydney StrikerSydney FC’s attacking stocks have received a significant boost with the capture of current Panamanian international striker Yairo Armando Glaize Yau for the 2012/13 season.
Yau will join Sydney FC on loan from Panamanian club Sporting San Miguelito upon completing a medical in Sydney.
The 22-year-old striker has played four matches for Panama, scoring one goal in a friendly against Guyana in May 2012. He was also a member of the squad that recently started Round 3 of CONCACAF 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifying with wins over Cuba and Honduras.
Yau first played professional football as a 16-year-old and has spent most of his career in Panama as well as a one year stint at Deportivo Cali in Columbia.
“We’re very excited about being able to entice Yau to Sydney FC,” said Sydney FC Coach Ian Crook. “He’s a current Panamanian international and the boy can play.
“He’s quick, direct, can play as a striker or a wide man on either side and he can cross a ball. He’s played recently for Panama and we’re thrilled he will be joining us for the 2012/13 season.
“We now have a good group of attacking options with Yau and Kruno Lovrek joining Joel Chianese, Nick Carle, Brett Emerton, Mitch Mallia, Ali Abbas and Dimi Petratos to give our Members and fans some excitement up front.”
