Why do people always have to make excuses for Heskey? Del Piero MAKES things happen for Sydney while with Heskey it seems; his team-mates have to PROVIDE for him.....I know who I'd rather!!!

I didn't rate Brillante in CM a few weeks back but I have to say that his combination with Rubes in the middle is working as their styles complement each other.
Good to see that our defence is not leaking those silly goals at the back anymore. The problem now is that the goals have dried out up front. Brown and Goodwin early in the 2nd both went for glory when a simple cut-back pass was required....cost us 3 points on the end.

    .
Ummm because Del Piero is a number 10 (he who provideth) and Heskey is a finisher (for further info please watch about the last decade of English fuutball).
Don't think I was making excuses but I do reackon its darn hard to score when you don't have the ball.
was just mentioning we don't seem to have that 'provider'.
But then you hit me with three of those exclamation thingys so I'm backing off.
    Cheers.

Thought griff made better runs than heskey after heskey got subbed, a number of times heskey was flat footed when he needed to be alert and he would of had some more chances. Not picking on heskey but we seem to move the ball quicker when he's not there. I think those two chances from Goodwin and brown from the acute angle should of found either heskey and griff and I wouldn't be writing this post.

many positives out of this match...scum are leading the comp but we actually out played em.Thought all our guys played good. coupla negatives...wide players gettin into good positions but instead of cuttin it back go for all the glory and ffs bringin on Jobe in the 89th min when he's comin back from an injury...the only thing you accomplish from that is another injury ffs
I hope he likes prison food.......and penis

chapman was unreal tonight. as unreal as sainsbury was, and has been all year, for them.

brillante is slowly turning into the new stu, and I like it

there were a few moments tonight where I wish jobe was out there - especially for a few switches.

Heskey is great. keeps things simple, keeps possession & doesn't shirk his defensive responsibilities. anyone who doesn't think he's the perfect target man for any team, especially us, in this league has nfi
    OK

    Yeah I'm hearing ya.
Just thought especially first 30 mins Heskey was in space a few times and we had no one making the killer ball. One goal would have won it tonight and I didn't think we have ourselves the best chance with some of the decision making.
    Could always be worse though.

When Heskey went off, we found it much harder to get through their central defenders as Zwaansvijk didn't have his hands full and was able to run off his man, if marking anyone at all. Heskey when he was on provided a heap more space for others, including allowing Goodwin and Brown those 2 chances. However, he was off the pace a bit when it came to taking up positions in the box, letting Sainsbury get in front of him at the near post a few times.

    Sums up the night.

Brown could have put Heskey in too. I was thinking "pass it.....pass it James....Hurry up....too late"

thought gallaway was poor last night.
but yes as stated simple cut back would have resulted in atleast 2 goals.
birraz was outstanding again, starting to feel more comfortable with him in goals at corner now
sick night, we got a point atleast!

Heskey had 2 good heading chances (difficult but still chances) and fluffed them both. The point I'm making is that it seems that unless it is put on a platter for him he's not going to put it away. ADP makes things happen from nothing, both are getting paid the big bucks to provide that difference. After a good start to the season, the question needs to be asked...are we getting our moneys worth from Heskey?

gypos tried to play a short pass game which suited our pressing def. If they had of played their usual long ball switch to our weakened defence they would have won. suckers.

We're the first team to keep three clean sheets in a row this season - fantastic effort lads. Definitely had the better of the play last night and were unlucky not to win too.

Graham Arnold should face heavy penalties for ignoring his ban last night and communicating with the gypo bench.. blatant disrespect for the authorities.

Josh Mitchell didn't put a foot wrong last night, but I expect that wont be recognised by the haters. Made about 2 or 3 absolutely vital interventions throughout the match to retain the clean sheet.

Gallaway looked a little off his game as mentioned, but it didn't cost us the game so it isn't a big deal. Everybody has a bad day now and again.

Neville was good without being great, and Chapman - well the best thing you can say about his performance last night is he didn't stand out. That's a compliment, as he just did his job and didn't screw up. At all.

Fantastic performance by the back 5 all around IMHO.

i thought so at the time, but watching the replays and with a little reflection, i think it was ok for goodwin to go for goal. heskey had a defender between him and goodwin, a defender closing down from behind and the pass would have had to be miraculous and the defender blind to slide it through. possibly could have passed it earlier, but not sure it would have got there then either.

brown though, yes, pass the bloody thing!
