    Thanks guys
5 red cards for Dudley on the day isn?t the refs fault (including the reserve grade keeper that ran 50 metres to get involved for his second yellow), they should?ve been down to 10 in firsts after 5 mins with that challenge that sent our midfield engine off, if that later in the game it was straight off
No mention of the dudley supporters who on 2 seperate occasions came into our active supporter area to calls us wogs (honestly don?t care) and everything under the sun with no reaction from our supporters, quickly escorted away by duty officers and security including more crap after the game(and shit to females and kids), don't have the time to even go into that
Not saying some of our boys were angels on the day but don?t make out like it all went one way
    Enjoy your offseason everyone
    Have a great 2025

He was just outside the box (not 30m) and the Dudley player did not make a football challenge. That's now a red. The fact he passed it has nothing to do with how the law is applied in this situation.

Pretty sure the rule is if the ref played advantage and suns scored, he can only give a yellow to the Dudley player.

But yeah, it was a red and yeah the ref stuffed up not playing advantage.

Lack of discipline and some questionable calls spoilt what could have been a great day of football.

Suns megaphone will be massive in Zone League next season.

    'Spoilt'?

Man, that was a fantastic day out. The more nonsense the better I say.

Don’t get me wrong … great day out

Just wish there was more chat about the football rather than all the other stuff

Surely the days of the megaphone are gone? Can't see too many positives of having them at these sort of events. If not anything annoying to most.

Good question. As a neutral what a game to watch.
You can?t blame the ref for the headbutt, or the second YC that resulted in the third send off. Even when Coxie was sent if the ref had played advantage there isn?t a Red Card but it was still an awful tackle with no chance of getting the ball so he was getting a card either way. There?s a solid case for a send off early in the game too - YC given but it was a horrible challenge. It?s hard to see on the replay because of the angle but I reckon he was lucky to stay out there.
The penalty is pretty obvious on the replay though it was hard to see at the time.
In short, Dudley were let down by several of their players not by the ref. They still nearly pinched it, which would have been a win for the ages. Great goal to put Dudley ahead too. A shame for them it wasn?t the winner, and the AP goal with seconds left would break most team.
Congratulations to both teams for showcasing Zone football.
    What a ride

Congrats to Suns on win today, just too good. But based on the audio I've heard this arvo, some of your supporters really let your club down today.
Committee members on here were getting all high and mighty about a private chat Dudley players had and then they allow their supporters to represent the club like this, very hypocritical of them but to be expected.

All the red cards were justifiably red cards, the penalty was a very soft call and a get out of jail free card for Suns.

For 40 minutes Suns had 3 extra players on the field and could only manage one clear goal and they conceded I am feeling embarrassed for them, at least some of the Suns players could feel that too and didn't engage in the soft penalty celebrations. A lucky game to win, well done to Dudley for holding them out as long as they did, one bad kick away from winning it, but Suns made it look easy.

No wonder they don't want to be promoted if the score after 20 minutes with 3 extra players is 1-1. They're socials are saying it is a comeback they won't still forget, I'd be wanting to take the win and forget about the game as soon as possible.

From what I have managed to see.. Dudley are going to be in for a pretty awful time in NL1. If people think current NL1 teams get too many red cards, they'll be in for a shock the figures that Dudley look ready to rack up. What I saw from yesterday tells me neither Dudley or Suns are prepared to head into NNSW's Zero Tolerance Policy. Between that, and people within their own club sharing screenshots of group chats, I predict Dudley as a club in general are in for a really tough year next year unless they change a lot about themselves. Good luck to them on working out how they manage things in the offseason.
    OK

Well done Suns on going back to back.

Was it their best performance of course not. All that matters is the final result.

Don?t think they ever really wanted to go up. Think they will be happy to be relegated next season.

Congratulations Newcastle suns, doesn’t matter how you win on the day.

    Got the job done

Logic of a five year old, "they said things to, so don't just blame us". Two wrongs don't make a right, is the saying.

Take ownership of poor behaviour without trying to throw shadow onto others.

That was the best loss ive ever seen in a game of footy. Grand finals show things that are so bizarre. The theatre of it all is the best. Those 8 players in black & white need to be immortals at that club.
Who will be the big hitters next year to march Suns in ZL1 now Dudley gone?

I think the comp will be a lot stronger then this year, all clubs will
Be competitive. Suns VS Croatia will be an interesting game.

Be interesting to see who the new coach is for the suns next year?

If they are finishing lower than teams like Wallsend, Thornton & Singleton then they will have had a really awful time in NL1 - worse than I predicted. I can't imagine a team used to winning would then go thru a season of losing and being relegated and feel happy about it.

Again good luck to them on navigating this offseason. There is a lot at risk for their club as far as I can see it. I guess when they decide to leak their group chat again next year we'll all hear all about it.

Preach it - incredible effort from those left on the park

Olympic will be strong again next year. Uni were the surprise team of 2024 and were minutes from making the big dance. Their biggest challenge has always been continuity with young players moving here to study and potentially moving on.
Cardiff were good at times and are building.
Croatia will be a force - looks like they have some real firepower but the discipline is not where it should be. That squad kept tight and disciplined will challenge most teams.
    Bring on 2025 !
