Jets v Cows Fri 28th March 7.35PM AEDT at Campbelltown

6 games left, need to win 5 for the predicted 40 points
6 would be better but the Pope would declare it a miracle and we would become St Peters Jets

Don't think Taylor played the last game in UAE so might be good to go.
The Cows are only slight favs
We have the top ref for the game
    Up to the players now
    Don't let Newy down

For a game we should be more than comfortable, we look incredibly uncomfortable

Jakolis put in cross after cross after cross. And yet we kept standing off.
    We get what we deserve

Defence really fell apart on this one, no idea what was happening with just about every goal they scored

Stanton not making those offensive subs earlier is also a real head scratcher, as well as choosing Ingham to start but not Natta

James should be coming out and punching those crosses, we couldn?t handle Sawyer so he needed to help out

That needed a dominant and confident keeper. Sit back with a two goal lead, same bloody things happen.

Definitely nothing to do with the 10 blokes in front of him

Can we have Scott back in goals please?
James is a good shot stopper, but now everyone knows they just have to cross the ball in and something will happen.

And... who could have imagined that parking the bus after the 3rd goal would have ended up in yet another choke?
We just kept kicking the ball away with no purpose for 25 minutes, once again.
    When will we f*ing learn???

In football all around the world, Tall Strikers like Sawyer are a real handful especially towards the end of games when teams are chasing a result and getting as many balls as possible into the box.

Only way to stop it is to minimise the delivery and really put some big bodies around them. I watched abit of Sawyer play in Victoria NPL last year for South Melbourne, He is a real handful and alot better play then when he played with the jets. I mentioned on 16th January this year that the Jets should consider him.

He is the last line of defence. I was a keeper for 20 years. You have to take responsibility sometimes and be proactive.

I've said before this a problem with many young keepers today. Not all about flying through the air to impress.

Used to be a keeper with Azzurri in the 70s called Boris Bendevski. Used to turn the simplest shot into a spectacular save. But.....he dominated his box as well.

I would be very curious as to how many goals we have conceded inside the six yard box this season.

I am not pro Scott by any stretch but James needs to take some responsibility for the final goal. He completely lost his situational awareness for the final goal. He never needed to attempt a shot stop that lead to the corner in the run up to the final goal. Not even a football the size of a pea was getting between him and his near post. the ball was going out on its own volition and if left would have been a goal kick but for some reason he felt compelled to get down and put a hand on it. He positioned himself perfectly but lost where he was at in that moment.

Hope he starts next week as he deserves just as many chances as Scott did after having poor games.

The ref Alex King and VAR Tim Danaskos were so bad, it looked like they were rigging the game, not a good look, should have been a few yellow cards and 2 penalties. The first 60 mins were very good but the final 30 mins looked like under 10's 3rd division, and that's being kind. But in the end, the refs never gave us a chance. Did anyone else think the ball was already out when he "saved" it for the last corner?

My favourite was when they showed an angle that looked like Sawyer may be off side, and it had the commentators questioning it, only for us to not see any other angles to determine if it was or not

I think that may have lost Kingy the grand final, so bad, and Timmy doesn't seem to know what the VAR is there for

Tonight Melbourne City showed how to protect a 3-2 lead.

Get it up the other end, try to score a fourth, or take it to the corner.

It could be a good idea if the refs released a brief justification and an image of decisions like these at the end of each round.
