A Stockton Committee Member has asked me to pass on these comments in regards to your comments here
"Your comments are incorrect. Before making public accusations or assumptions, it would have been far more productive and intelligent to ask questions and seek clarification?especially on matters you?re clearly not fully informed about and clearly have no idea.
I know exactly what occurred, as I personally handled all comms:
0727 ? I messaged the Westlakes contact number I have, advising Third Grade was washed out, but we were still hopeful Reserves and Firsts could go ahead. I mentioned reassessment would occur at 9:00 AM. No response
0800 ? I followed up, asking for thoughts on pushing kickoff times back to allow more drying time. No response
0914 ? I messaged again: ?Thoughts on moving games to Westlakes? Corroba is no good.? No response
These messages were sent to both a listed Westlakes contact and a known player. No response was received from either party.
From there, I actively searched for alternate grounds:
0933 ? I informed NF that Corroba was unplayable and asked if they knew of any alternative fields.
0940 ? 0950 ? I contacted Mayfield Juniors, Azzurri and Raymond Terrace to check for spare fields. Both had none available. Completely understandable.
0950 - NF contacting me saying that had a ground at Tarro Park which was potentially available.
1007 ? NF confirmed Tarro Park was good to go with slightly delayed kickoffs. I asked if we needed to bring equipment.
1010 ? NF confirmed nothing was required from us equipment-wise.
All of this was done to ensure the games could go ahead?despite having already had three washed-out games and receiving no response from Westlakes during a two-and-a-half-hour window.
1018 ? I made phone calls to two Westlakes numbers given to me by NF?one new, one already contacted. One call went unanswered. The other was answered and met with aggression, asking why Westlakes hadn?t been contacted?despite our repeated attempts.
1032 ? A follow-up call confirmed that Westlakes were happy to play wherever, as long as referees were appointed?which they were.
1230 ? At the ground, our squad manager offered to source bench seating for Westlakes' Reserves. He was told it wasn?t necessary.
Given all of the above, to label our club as ?disgraceful? or ?embarrassing? is not only inaccurate?it?s deeply unfair to a club that went above and beyond to get the games played in tough conditions.
What is embarrassing is making public accusations without having the facts and having any idea what actually happened. Also completely ignoring the effort that went into making sure Westlakes didn?t lose another weekend of football.
The Sharks look forward to your apology.
Rolo"
Jaliens gives me the horn
Hey Buddha,
Just want to address and close this one out. I was the player Rolo contacted outside of our wet weather contact so can confirm the above. Been chatting with Rolo aswell and sounds like what I suspected as unfortunate circumstances with not having the correct number initially hence the nil response from us (mine was more through family stuff at the time). Anyways, I don?t know who undertaker is and don?t know who from our club he spoke to for their info. I?ll speak to what I know though.
Stockton made best efforts to get the game on. Their ressies staff tried to assist with a bench but the facilities provided just didn?t cater unfortunately. Stockton did a great job in getting the game on given the circumstances. It would be handy if there were bench seats in both sheds if this ground is to be used as a fall back in future but based on Rolos comments it doesn?t sound like the ?home clubs? responsibility which is fair.
I know there?s a formal process that?s meant to be followed.. but I think it?s easy to forget that this is all volunteers from clubs doing the initial rearrangements and sometimes things don?t follow process perfectly, it happens.
On the day, Stockton were great and there were 2 competitive matches. I want to thank Rolo and the Stockton football club for ensuring we didn?t have to turn up on a cold windy Wednesday night for a catch up game.. that would have been sh*t.
Sounds like the ref is a cheat. It happens occasionally, theyre human and I used to ref and seen it. There is a reason why captains need to question a ref when consistency disappears.
However at 1 man down Cardiff should regrouped, communicated that the ref is coming for them then dive all night to try even things up. Once integrity of a game is gone might as well play it their way.

10 mins in, straight red card to Cardiff for decent. Unlucky as there were a few 50/50's go against Cardiff and they were blowing up. Not sure what the ref heard but straight red for decent.
Second red card was two yellows. Maybe after 25 mins. After the first red card two yellows to the captain over the next 15 mins (decent again). Cardiff just could compose themselves and were losing it.
Cardiff then did really well 1 and 2 men down for most of the half.
2-0 Mayfield @ HT.
Last straight red card came maybe at the 55-minute mark. Absolutely horrible high, studs up karate kick on Mayfield player's chest/arm. Bruising and blood drawn.
Third man gone, minutes later a Cardiff bloke went down injured and with no more subs the game was called (maybe 55-60 mins).
Mayfield 5-0 I think.

ok, as i left due to personnel reasons after the 1st send off.
My late night phone call, explained pretty much as written above.
1st send off was ref abuse" holy shit ref" are his exact words.
2nd not sure what was said.
3rd late tackle
player down was concussed i was told, he was going off, so down to 7. So, coach asked to call it.
Thats it in nutshell as told to me.
Yes we need to regroup after that, but sometimes that's football.
cheers

It is not about regrouping but addressing and weeding out a potential discipline issue you have at the club.
You cant just dismiss the situation as the referees are cheats like Trigga did. You have to take responsibility and look in your own backyard at what you can do better.
[QUOTE=Zonal Marking;281687]
We took the responsibility, we have not blamed anyone bar ourselves, we have not called anyone cheats not sure what else i can say about it, except here is what happened for the 1st send.
1st one sent off said "Holy shit ref", after our fullback was tripped in the box, no pen, he gets up returns to his RB position, gets cleaned up again, all within a minute (this kid weighs about 60kg) so if that's a sendoff offence for our player, we all should look out then.
Imagine thinking it is okay to swear at the ref, no wonder there is a discipline problem
well taffy if you think "holy shit ref" is swearing at a ref, well obviously you have led a sheltered life on the field, never been kicked, never had a bad decision go against you, or the other just a keyboard warrior?
The ankle injury sustained has put our young fullback out this for the weekend also, so...
cheers Chris.......
Firstly you dont get a red card for DISSENT it is only a yellow. You can get a red card for OFFINABUS (Offensive insulting and abusive)behaviour.I would be more inclined to put what happened down to a complete lack of discipline by the players concerned not any actions by the referee.
When are we going to make the referee accountable. Handing out yellows and reds without any prior warning or providing them a chance is ridiculous...
And if all the above correspondence is true, that is blatant cheating and poor form by having a mayfield clubbie running the line on a first grade match.
If Dougie of all people, was giving the referee a dressing down after the game about his performance, that should be enough to suggest he may have lost control.
