Everyone said that about Suns Vs Croatia and that turned into a bore affair, except for the Croatia fans.

There are no age restriction rules for Northern League 1, if your mail is correct and Dudley genuinely did this then they have seriously gone wrong somewhere.

Dudley have been very competitive in the competition, currently in 6th position.
Absolutely agree, I wouldn't have expected them to be bottom of the table, but the way some people on here were carrying on about how they will likely be promoted again was delusional at best

This year's Northern League One rules say that your reserve grade squad needs 7 players born in 2025 or later. That's an age restriction rule right there.

Damn, you need newborns and fetuses in the squad. Reserve grade is also not first grade. Also on the roster, not on the team sheet which is easy since Dudley has Conference League teams and you can play across both.

You need to have 7 players under 21 in your top 2 grades is what I was told

I have never understood Newcastle footballs vendetta against older players… when I was young which was a long time ago it was simply the best players played, if you were 15 or 40 and had the talent you were in 1st grade.

Imagine Luka Modrić decides to migrate to Australia next year and wanting to play for Croatia in NewFM. He can't with the current policy being 41 years 😂

Because they think because if you?re 21 years old and never played higher than Div 2 some older person is preventing you from being a Socceroo somehow

Similar rule changes in Newcastle Npl next year. On the match day teamsheet of 17 players, each team must field 3 under 23 players and 2 under 20 players. So a third of the squad is age restricted

There's more than enough players U/20 in the NPL system who will drop down and take the place of the "old farts or ", not my words but they were said in one of our earlier ZPL meetings by our hierarchy.

Response was the U/20's are not good enough to take their place 1st grade ZPL.
Response back was you think so? or something along those lines.

The beauty of this comp is the older players dropping down and making it competitive, joining with some young fellas to teach them how it's done.

This is my statement of the season:
A Suns vs Croatia fc Grandfinal will get a higher attendance than the NPL grandfinal 7000-plus, and possibly the highest attendance for a football match in the Hunter this year! Hearing lots of Croatians from Sydney plan to come to the game with flares; and potentially an ex-Croatian international in attendance I look forward to it as a neutral.

Did I miss something. Were the semis last week. This post is a belter I love they are planning 3 months out for the grand final that they still need to win games to reach.

I find it funny that once Croatia are mentioned in this forum you?re very quick to jump in.

    Lol
Such a well informed neutral, with a chequered past.😂
Don't disagree though, with crowd for GF. On the flip side it wouldn't be hard to have more attendees than NPL. NPL in 2025 ,probably the biggest fizzer to date. No interest, poor crowds and Shi'ite football.

    Kotara v Suns 2-2
    Both teams looked understrength

Based on the support Croatia got for GFs the last two years this is fair call.
Both teams have strong community supporter bases, and the neutrals would be lining up to watch it too.
The crowd at the season opener was a fair indication that the punters would want to see it

I agree it will draw the biggest crowd and have the most appeal to the neutral but I?m just saying both teams have got to get there first.

Who do we think goes down?

    Stockton 7
    Westlakes 4
    Azzurri 1

Stockton + Westlakes lucky that Azzurri are in this league still cause they aren?t ZL1 quality. Stockton wouldn?t finish in top 5 of ZL2.

    Will they be red flares?
