Two huge signings for Lake Macquarie just announced Lara Gooch and Milan Hammond. Also a huge blow for the Jets academy considering Milan has been playing some games for them already this year and they are eligible for relegation now.

The addition of A-League players in the near future is going to make things interesting. Lakes adding two New Lambton adding a few. Anyone know of other clubs adding more?

I?m also very happy to be proven wrong in my early predictions with Maitland, very impressed with how they have started the season can only hope they continue it.

Season has been a lot more competitive then I expected.

Thus far, Maitland has been the most consistent team this year, and deserve to be leading the comp. New Lambton will be strong with their usual A League (Davies and Allen). Not sure who lakes or Azzurri will sign. Magic already signed a fair few players, and I am not sure if they have room for any new players.

What are people's thoughts on the late Friday night grand final for the girls teams?

Indeed, they talk about Darling Street having 4 changerooms and how good it is. No reason then why they couldn't have WPL Reserves, NPL Reserves, WPL First Grade then NPL First Grade all on Sunday, plenty of time for the rooms to be used and then have PYLG on Saturday

Yes 1st grade, I mentioned girls teams, so the U13s, U15s, and U17s.

If I say the boys grand final, you're not going to tell me you're thinking of 1st grade. If I say the men's grand final, you're not going to be thinking of U14s.

Righto gentlemen let?s move on. And get back to the point.

Playing the games at speers and on a Friday night is ridiculous. Playing 13?s and 17?s at the same time not only disadvantages parents who have kids in both. But what about the coaches who would like to enjoy watching other teams at the club go for glory or in fact help out with other grades.

I think it’s unreasonable to expect them to play at a time they usually do not. Most of their games would be during the daytime over the weekend. Playing at night and on a Friday night doesn’t seem right.

I’m assuming they are doing 15s first to allow any fill ins to play in their respective teams afterwards. But having 2 grand finals simultaneously for the same competition seems a bit weird.

I can see why they don’t want to put them at Darling Street. Ends up with plenty of games on the pitch before the NPL Mens which should be the last game of the football season.

In an ideal world the senior competitions would be staggered
    Week 1 - ZL3 and ZL2
Week 2 - ZL1 and Northern League 1 reserves and NPL playoff
Week 3 - NPLW and NPLM

Could put NPL Youth ‘girls’ and ‘boys’ on Week 1 or 2.

I don't see what the girls can't play the weekend after either? Had the boys season not been cut short then they would be finishing well after the NPL grand final, no reason why the NPLW grand final can't be held before the other teams.
