To further muddy the waters, it was reported (not fact) that Silverlake activated a clause in the contract, that turns their stake in the A league, into a debt which APL must now pay. So the Para money may be the same but paying down the debt has reduced the payment to clubs

    Hi chaps
I thought this was as good a thread as any to post this...

I'm finally looking at getting a Paramount subscription after the disaster of trying to watch the Socceroos the other night.
Can someone tell me here or just PM me details about what you get and for how much? I just want to watch A-League and Socceroo games.
Not interested in any sub-extensions for movies etc...unless it's the other way around and you need an extension to watch football?

Also, a mate tells me there's a way to make them sh!t the bed if you go to unsubscribe. Then they offer you a discounted deal.
    Is that true?

    Cheers.

$9.99 gets you everything, add $4 for 4k. There is a 7 day free trial. I never bother with negotiating for something that is less than $10. You pay more for two coffees. And you cancel online yiurself anyway.

If you are that anal you can find some discount deals online.

    a) don't be a poor. Just pay your bill and leave the low rent shit to the gypos.

    b) by paying your bill, it creates hope that paramount might finally be able to afford someone better than Brosque and Thompson as analysts.

Let's all think long term here lads. Support the multinationals.

VPN and youtube gets Aleague matches on the Aleague channel.

AFC channel for Socceroos WC qualifying.

Easiest VPN is using the built in free opera browser, gets better quality than Ten bold on FTA and Ten Play streams.

Live sports broadcasting in Australia could be set for a huge shake up.

Rehash of the AFR article. Basically, DAZN might buy foxtel.

What do you think this means? I'm amazed anyone's buying cable TV channels.

My guess would be Foxtel doesn't change to much in the interim.
Foxtel channels Fox Sports 1 etc will be changed to DAZN 1 etc. Most likely means the death of Kayo and all Foxtel sports content will be made available to stream on DAZN.

Eric Paartalu sounds like he's been diligently studying VHS tapes of Andy Harper's greatest calls, but to have a proper Newy boy in the booth isn't a bad thing.

The Paramount 5 year deal finishes in May after this new season ends.
There is a few articles online saying that paramount is in talks about a new deal but they are behind a paywall.
The Paramount deal sounded promising when first announced but it felt like it fizzled out pretty quick.
With Stan Sport now having the EPL maybe they are our best option going forward if they are interested.
They have plenty of FTA channels so I'm sure they could put a Saturday game or 2 on one of them.
That would be better than Paramount in my opinion.
The only other option is Foxtel/Dazn. If they are interested.

Channel 10 seem to be really making some changes.

Cutting “the project”, cutting survivor host after 10 years, I’m a celebrity host changes, they seem to be just uprooting things a little. Wouldn’t surprise me if axing the a league or shifting to another sport is on the cards.

Curious if it makes sense to have A league as well for Stan. You’d argue there would be a fair bit of crossover of people that would subscribe for EPL and ALM. Eg if 75 people are interested in ALM and 50 are interested in EPL, you’re only getting 25 more subscribers by adding ALM.

Would be great to have a “home of football”

    What does Optus keep atm?
