But it?s not about picking the best players, a kid may stand out in his/her club games but does he/she have the attributes to learn and to be coached, there?s a big difference, conceding goals at this age means nothing in my opinion, yeah it?s good to win but it?s better to learn

Once again I never alluded to it being about winning and loosing, so we can stop bring that point up.

The main point was that the evidence points to an inherent deficiency in a particular area of the game across all but one team. I could understand if it was in 4 of the 7 age groups or even 5. But the fact is that it's across virtually all of them ( only u20s is not but looking at how dominant they are going forward and in the comp I'd bet they do a lot less defending then the rest of the reams). It's from 13s all the way to 1st grade, that would be an indicator that they are either,
1. Not picking the right players (not the right attributes, not coachable, cant/ unwilling to learn).
2. Have a poor coaching philosophy, or are poor at coaching/instilling a good philosophy. Or have coaches not at the required level for Newcastle's elite development club.
3. Picking players that are part of the in crowd, or dare I say going to the right academy's or have ties to the right people.

How can you say conceding goals at this age is ok as long as they learn. There is no magic age in football that you know all you are ever going to know, I'm 40yrs old and still learning new things about football. You dont get to 25 and go I can defend now because I'm old enough and I've learnt enough.

You also bring up that its not about picking the best kids, but that just backs up my first post. I virtually said that exact thing. I said they pick out kids who look good, but dont have the right attributes. They pick what is precieved to be the best 16 in there eyes and then try and shoehorn them into positions. Any parent within the system will tell you the same thing. And it's across the board, they dont care if the best 16 are all strikers they just pick them then make it up. There are multiple cases of this and even multiple cases of this killing the kids enjoyment which drives them out. Not only out of the jets but out of the game in all together.

Women jets relegated (2 senior teams, youth staying up thanks to the younger grades 18s are near the bottom of the table) in the first year they are eligible. Any player with junior Matildas or a-league aspirations will most likely move on next season. Good chance to reset and start again. Might also be time for the people in charge to get out an see how the local clubs are developing the players as some do it well some not so well.

A bit of all above. Players play for themselves more than the team. Arrogance is a problem but also part of the mental edge needed. A fair bit of over-coaching happening. Kids havent a clue how the implement instruction then get grilled.
Ive seen many come back into local grade and not be the best on field even after acclimatising to a fairly different type of football.
Occasionally the strong mental fortitude isnt there from the player will fantastic ability but that is not often.
Coaching is the main problem. We have the talent to go further.
