Not a bad game last night between the Metrostars and Cows. Metro could have pinched it with some better finishing. One to watch out for in coming years

I thought the nunwading/phoenix game was good value.

Another good game, Wonderers were rubbish, couldn't win with skill so reverted to diving and trying to intimidate the match officials, pathetic really. Well done to Heidelberg, deserved the win

Avondale could be the dark horse this year

Is anyone aware what would occur if a non A-League club won the cup? I assume they'd reach Asian competitions in that case, yeah?

Also be interesting if you have a Wellington/Auckland semi-final. Would mean that whoever played them in the final would reach Asia by default.

I read somewhere yesterday that the Asian Cup spot would go to the highest placed Australian A-League team.

If true and the cards fall right either Macarthur or the Jets could qualify just by making the semi-final.

For this reason I fear a Smurf win against Auckland is "guaranteed".

Haven't seen anything stipulating the Australian team must be A league. The highest placed Australian team gains entry

I thought Avondale might be the dark horse this year but after this round I'm swapping to Heidelberg. Beat Wanderers 3-0, then beat Phoenix 4-0. The impressive thing is, no goals have been scored against them. It's a tough road for the Jets from here, with the Bulls, who have won 2 of the last 3 Cups, then Avondale, who are good enough to beat some A league teams. Just glad Heidelberg are on the other side of the draw

Great weekend for watching football ahead! Nice to still be interested this late in the competition.

Motivation for this team should not be an issue - there's a spot in the cup final on the line!

The amount of commentators suggesting an all NPL final as a 'legitimate possibility' tells me they are all highly educated and experienced in the history of the Jets.

I thought the first half was a tad slow JP,typical Corica play, but thoroughly enjoyed the second half

Despite their promises, the FA are yet to deliver

My guess is they're desperately trying to find a suitable venue in Melbourne.
