Could not agree more with this! Spot on. The referring was absolutely ridiculous and the problem is , it will not get any better in this competition!

I really want to see another ZL1 team stick it to a ZPL team! Especially since Uni are no mugs. Carn Burbs!

its more then nown around the traps that many teams dont care about state cup. i am certain cooks hill didnt play there first grade squad against musselbrook. Warnersbay used there state cup game against bero as a trial for new players and for 23's .

be interesting to see how uni are taking this competition

I think when it gets into the season teams tend to take this comp less seriously. Its fine as a competitive pre season game but when you play on a wednesday night teams can struggle to field their full strength first grade team. In particular people with work, niggles from the weekend games and other commitments so coaches i think tend to try new things in these games or throw some players in the deep end and see what happens.

wallsend and kotara play each other tomorrow night and sunday so i wont be surprised to see 2 different line ups from wednesday to sunday.

Would be good nice to see the associations intervene and go off the weekends result so they do field full strength teams and don't have to play each other twice in the same week

the problem is the whole comp is still floored. Having nbn/ newfm league in there own seperate pool. Were sposed to be sending our 4 best sides down to coffs from newcastle and were only sending 2 of our best. plus maybe our 13th/14th best. ( thats assuming the top i.ds teams would beat the bottom newfm teams which i believe)

In saying that this way is cool to give people a few games. MAybe they should take nbn and newfm teams out of it completly because ive heard its not a priority at all for them teams once the season starts. just make it a state wide comp for interdisterict level teams.

    This, our attitude was atrocious.
Terrace hounded us on every ball and took the chances they had, same couldn't be said for us.

Maybe the mindset of the Suburbs team changed after seeing the lower grades win and taking the lead early in first grade, mind you the Suburbs striker didn't know much about scoring the first goal as it was smashed into his face from our fullback clearing from a Suburbs cross.
Suburbs controlled the next 1/4 of the game with the Terrace hanging on and a few offside decisions going our way. Some cracking challenges were taking place as our boys were fighting for every ball they could. A nice ball over the defence was enough to put our striker thru who had a good shoulder to shoulder challenge with Suburbs left back, he won the ball and coolly slotted the equaliser. A few chances for both sides in the first half but went into the half time break at 1-1.
Second half saw Suburbs control alot of play thru the middle and playing out wide then getting the ball back across taking advantage of the tiring Terrace boys. they took the lead midway thru the half with a ball played wide from M.Darr to his bro A.Darr who put in a great cross for Suburbs to take the lead, maybe J.Darr scored lol.
Need to keep Matty Darr shut down as he put in some cracking shots in the second half and won't be long before he starts hitting the target.
Terrace wouldn't go down without a fight and kept pressure on Suburbs and soon won a free kick outside the right of the box. Lumberjack hit a Beckham like shot pass the wall to equalise and take his second for the game.
The home team continued to push but were caught out late in the game with the Lumberjack finishing off another thru ball worked from the middle of the park and getting the points for the Terrace.

I thought suburbs had the better of general play, decent attitude, particuarly with their trademark width. Both sides created good chances. No2 from tearass is a cracking forward albeit seemed temperamental at times. lol ponytail ray, did a decent job.

I think the best way to describe the day is at 1-0 and 2-1 up for suburb we hit the crossbar and the post and the ball goes out. At 2-2 terrace it the post the ball goes in it just wasn't our day. That's Football
